Saying Goodbye | | We are saying goodbye to our Nursery Care Provider, Heidi Eberle, at the end of this month. She will not be coming back in the Fall. Even though she loves all the kids so much, she needs to spend more time with her family on Sundays.
So, thank you Heidi for your time and attention. We wish you the best and hope you will come visit us.
Heidi's last day with us is June 30th. Your child may want to have the opportunity to say goodbye.

Hospitality Committee Needs You
| | The Hospitality Committee is very much in need of folks to tend to this vital part of our congregational life. The Committee's mission is to supervise and assist with planning and executing events such as potlucks, Christmas Eve service, and also keeping the kitchen in good order and stocked with supplies.
Monique is ending her two year stint on the committee and Dani can't do all this alone. Can you help, maybe even for just a year? Please contact Monique Webster or Dani Lundbaek. webster-dejong@verizon.net, dani.lundbaek@yahoo.com

Wanted: YOUR Fundraiser Ideas | Fundraisers are always better when the ideas come from you, our members and friends! If you've got a great idea for a fundraiser for next year, now is the time to tell us about it - the Board will be calendaring next year's fundraisers at our June meeting. Tell us your idea by filling out this short application and returning it to the UUCM office by Friday, June 14. For more information, visit our Fundraisers page. You may be thinking "My idea is great, but I can't possibly do it all by myself!" Don't worry, people will step up to assist you. They always do. There are many ways to help you recruit volunteers, but we need to know your idea first. Questions? Please email Susan Ingersoll at fundraiser@uumarin.org or Janette Morrow at office@uumarin.org.
An application is now required per our new Fundraising Policy, so that the Board has the necessary information to effectively evaluate all fundraisers. |
Book Group - June 19
| | Our Book Group meets on third Wednesdays at 7:30 in the Clara Barton Room. Members and visitors are invited to join us in lively discussions.
The selection for June 19 is Restless by William Boyd:
"Boyd's ninth novel, an absorbing historical thriller, is loosely based on the history of a covert branch of British intelligence created to coax America into the Second World War. The story unfolds on parallel tracks as Sally Gilmartin, born Eva Delectorskaya, a Russian emigree recruited into the British Secret Service in 1939, reveals her clandestine past in an autobiography that she gives to her daughter, Ruth, a graduate student and single mother living a dull civilian life in Oxford in 1976." Social Justice Education/Action Activities
|
Because the Winter shelter is closed until mid-November, there will be an even more pressing need (if that's possible) at the Mill St. Shelter and for the Street Chaplain's Tuesday night dinners. Please keep an eye out here for details as needs arise. --------------------------------------------------------------- Homeward Bound of Marin is the primary provider of shelter and services for homeless families and individuals. They seek volunteers to represent the program at Marin Farmers Markets. 459-5843
-------------------------------------------------------------- Members and guests are invited to take advantage of the Sunday Social Justice "Table" to promote a favorite cause or project. Perhaps you want to circulate a handout or a written petition (or refer people to electronic online petitions.) Arrangements must be submitted for committee approval in advance. figleafjoan@comcast.net 453-6221 --------------------------------------------------------------
