UUCM Religious Education Nuuws | | April, 2013 Whew! Time flies when you are having fun. I am having fun. Are you?
We do like to have some serious fun and some fun with the serious in our religious education program. The silly and the sublime can be found in our classes as we integrate learning and experience while holding the goal of developing in our children both a strong sense of self-definition, values, and deep connection to community: family, faith, and civic.
Our Spring is packed full of programs and community celebrations. Right after the All Church Retreat weekend, May 3-5, our Coming of Age ceremony and community potluck, May 12th, will feed our hearts again. Yes, this is Mother's day and it is a great way to share the time with a biological, adopted, or Earth mother in beloved community at UUCM. Learning at UUCM RE. 2013 Pledge Drive:
Reminder: Turn in your pledge form today!
|
Our Pledge Drive is officially over, but some of us still haven't turned in our pledges. UUCM relies on pledge numbers to create our budget for the upcoming church year. Keep your membership current: Return your pledge form to the office or pledge online ASAP. Thanks!

Community Potluck: May 12th
| | In celebration of Coming of Age and the extra bit to make the Budget Hearing that much tastier, FOOD. ~ Please bring a good home cooked dish, sandwiches, fresh fruit, salad, or dessert. Just to make sure we have full nutritional coverage and do not end up with 50 carrot cakes, here are suggested potluck assignments --> Last name A-H: main dish, I-P: salad, Q-U: bread and cheese or complex carb, V-Z: fruit or dessert. (If you have a great dish you like making and it is not in your category ... trade with someone. This is allowed.)
In a goal to move to zero waste potlucks, bringing your own tableware would be helpful.
UUCM will provide drinks: coffee service, milk and juice.

Please keep an eye out here for details as needs arise. --------------------------------------------------------------- Homeward Bound of Marin is the primary provider of shelter and services for homeless families and individuals. They seek volunteers to represent the program at Marin Farmers Markets. 459-5843
-------------------------------------------------------------- Members and guests are invited to take advantage of the Sunday Social Justice "Table" to promote a favorite cause or project. Perhaps you want to circulate a handout or a written petition (or refer people to electronic online petitions.) Arrangements must be submitted for committee approval in advance. figleafjoan@comcast.net 453-6221 --------------------------------------------------------------
