A Message from Executive Director Brian Gallagher...

Dear Colleagues,

This week, the National Center moved into a new location (details below).  We are downsizing to match our current staffing capacity, and we are moving into a building in downtown Boston called the Nonprofit Center, run by Third Sector New England, which provides resources to non-profits throughout the region.  Our new office will be cozy - about one-fifth the space that we are used to at Roland Street - but much more efficient (e.g., shared kitchen and conference space), and helpful to our bottom line.

The move has also been a catalyst for some much-needed technological  upgrades:  we'll have a new server, we've moved more infrastructure into the cloud, and we've transitioned our IT support to Tech Networks of Boston, with whom we'll continue to work on our long-term IT strategy.

Our new space will be a tangible shift from the days of a federal earmark.  As I mentioned in my note following last week's Board meeting, we now have a clear strategy in which the National Center provides core services to the network, and partners with you, our affiliates, in the critical work you do at the state and regional level.   Priority number one for us is increasing our fundraising muscle, and refining our development strategy.  Fortunately, given our many organizational assets and achievements, we are well-positioned for future growth.

With best wishes,

Brian
