The Education Committee, the Committee on Children, and the Public Health Committee invite you to an informational briefing with pediatricians and early literacy experts from Reach Out and Read.  Reach Out and Read is a national, evidence-based non-profit organization that partners with pediatricians to develop early literacy skills in young children and foster parental engagement. 

 

Panelists will discuss early brain development, literacy and language acquisition, parental engagement and the importance of a child's first 1,000 days. Reach Out and Read is working within pediatric primary care to promote the vital role parents play in their child's developing literacy skills, school readiness and social and emotional development.
