"Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies" (Psalm 27:11)

Have We need divine direction because we are naturally short sighted. Except God opens your eyes, you can't see beyond the natural. And it is how far you are able to see that determines your speed in life. There is no self-sufficient man, we all are grossly limited but through His guidance God augments our short-comings and enables us. So, our enablement is as a result of trusting in the Lord.

The journey to destiny begins with the discovery of divine plan for your life. To prophet Jeremiah God said, "Before I formed you in your mother's womb, I knew you" (Jer. 1:5). Before you came into this world, God had a plan for you. You are not an accidental being. You were pre-programmed by God. He is not just trying to prepare for you. He already packaged and perfected everything concerning you before He brought you into the world. He knows your destination, so allow Him the right to direct you there.

When you are directed by God you will not need to make repeated efforts before you begin to see results. David was divinely directed, that was why he only needed to cast one stone to bring down the head of Goliath. When God directs you, you hit your target at the first attempt.

Another reason we need divine direction is because the enemy is prowling everywhere, seeking whom he may devour. The psalmist said, "Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies" (Ps 27:11). Our safety is in following divine guidance.

According to Psalm 23, when God is your Shepherd, you will not lack bread. When you are directed by Him, you will be situated by the still waters; enjoying calm and peace in all areas of your life. You won't be intimidated because God, the Shepherd is ever with you and He sets a table before you in the presence of your enemies. What wonderful benefits we get when we allow God to direct us!
