This summer has been like no other at Still Waters. So many things happened; expected and unexpected. However, through it all, God was with us... and for that, we were/are grateful!
We continue to stand in awe of The Great I Am. May the stories below bless you, encourage you, and strengthen you in your faith walk.
Blessings to you & yours,
Ketra

Please join us in welcoming our newest staff member, Brandi Westbrook.
Brandi will serve as our School Programs Coordinator. She will work directly with our partnering schools and school speakers; scheduling, confirming, preparing, delivering, organizing, and whatever else is needed to serve our community schools with excellence.
We thank God for giving us the ability to bring Brandi on as staff and can't wait to see how He continues to use her!
A message from Brandi...
I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself. I have been volunteering at Still Waters for several months. We have lived in the Heartland neighborhood for seven years. I have worked at Crandall Middle School as well as substituted in Crandall. I have also worked at a preschool for ten years.
My husband and I have been blessed with two beautiful girls; Kayla and Graceann. Kayla is 18 and a Senior at Crandall High School. She is an assistant drum major for the Pirate Regiment this year. Graceann is 14 and in 8th grade at Crandall Middle School. She is involved in the FFA showing a lamb and a goat this year. Both of our girls have benefited from the Still Waters' school program! They love Mrs. Ketra and Mrs. Melissa!
We are actively involved in our church. I am an assistant to the preschool minister at our Kaufman campus and my husband is on the board of overseers. I pray that I will be an asset to the school program.

| | Congrats Codie & Spencer!!! |
Where do we begin when it comes to these two? From the very first day we met Codie and Spencer, we knew God had something wonderful planned for their lives.
Codie had no clue that she would come to know and accept Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at Still Waters.. but she did!
Codie had no idea that Spencer would work two jobs while attending high school and playing football (MVP of his senior year) when she had their baby... but he did!
We didn't know if Codie and Spencer would continue participating in our Teen Parent Programs and achieve the short-term goals that were set for them during the program year... but they did!
We stand in awe of what God has done in just one short year in these teenager's lives, and we cannot express in words how proud we are of them. They make our hearts happy as we not only watch their commitment to each other, but also to their little boy.
Only God knows the plans He has for this little family, but we do know His plans are to prosper them and not to harm them, plans to give them hope and a future.
We are so thankful God chose Still Waters to walk alongside of Codie and Spencer during this season of their life. We are beyond blessed and thankful for this privilege.

Yep... this is their baby boy! Isn't he ADORABLE?!

We are excited about our new website for ministry friends like you.
Our other website (for those who are seeking our services) still available and able to be accessed; however, we wanted a website for our ministry friends that provides more information about Still Waters. For example, our history, staff, programs / events, as well as ways we can partner with you and your church home in furthering The Lord's Kingdom.

| | Adri & Daniel's sweet angels! |
For those of you who don't know Adri, pull up a chair while you learn about this amazing young lady.
First, let's back up a few years ago...
Adri remembers seeing information about Still Waters at her high school and thinking, at that time, that she would never need our help. Little did she know, that she would later find herself in an unplanned pregnancy during her senior year of high school.
Adri was introduced to Still Waters and the services we had available to help her. After much discussion, she decided to fill out an application to participate in Chosen, our program for teen moms.
While attending Chosen, Adri: - developed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- found a church home
- spoke out, for the first time, about being sexually abused as a child
- attended a healing class for sexual abuse victims
- made a commitment to remain abstinent before marriage
- enrolled / attended college
- spoke to middle/high school students about her story
- gave her testimony at churches
- held leadership roles in the Chosen program
- married Daniel, the father of her three beautiful girls
Adri has accomplished so much since we first met her. There are not enough words to express how proud we are of her.
Please join us in celebrating Adri and the many goals she has accomplished. To God be the glory, great things He has done!!!
Congratulations Graduate!! The University of North Texas at Dallas
Bachelor of Science in Human Service Management
Graduated May 14, 2016
Thank you, ministry partners! YOU have made a tremendous impact in Adri's life!
To help other teen moms like her, please partner with us. You can make a tax deductible donation now by clicking here!

On May 29, 2016, our lives changed in an instant. We will never forget that Sunday afternoon.
Steve Killen, Melissa's husband, had been working on their daughter's car in Corsicana when it fell on him. We give thanks to God for doing what only He can do during that time; placing the perfect people, in the perfect place, at the perfect time!
Because of Devin (their daughter), Dawson (their son), employees of the Wendy's in Corsicana, the paramedics of Corsicana's Fire Department, the Trauma Team at Baylor Hospital of Dallas, and the miraculous intervention / healing of God Almighty, Steve Killen is alive and doing miraculously well!
As you can see from the photo below, Steve was on a ventilator the day of his accident. At that time, doctors did not know what his outcome would be. Family and friends rushed to the hospital to be with Melissa and the kids. From the moment word was received of Steve's accident, hundreds of prayer warriors bombarded the Throne of Grace on behalf of Steve Killen and his family.
Today, we stand as witnesses of God's power and miraculous hand of healing that He placed upon Steve Killen that day. We give thanks to God Almighty for saving his life!
To Steve, Melissa, Devin and Dawson...
We love you, thank God for every remembrance of you, and praise God for blessing us beyond measure for the privilege of knowing you and experiencing life with you; both, here on earth and for eternity! May The Lord continue to bless you, keep you and shine His face upon you.
