Proposed LTHS PTO Bylaws Changes
Attention LTHS PTO Members!

On Tuesday April 12, 2016 the LTHS PTO will vote on proposed changes to the LTHS PTO Bylaws.

This, our second TEDx event, offers "Connections" - a theme seeking to understand the connections we long for in each other, the connections that lead to curiosity and understanding about life and the world in which we live, and those connections that make the world a smaller place. It is our hope that, typical of the TED tradition, our talks will inspire the imagination and generate interesting and important conversations. 

Please join us on Saturday, April 2nd, from 12 to 5. 


Need a Directory?
Did you miss out on buying a 2015-2016 LTISD Student Directory?

If so, you are in luck!  There are a limited number of extra copies available for sale at the  LTHS Main and Annex front offices AND the front offices of Lakeway Elementary, Bee Cave Elementary, and Lake Pointe Elementary.  Directories are $15 each, and you may pay for them with cash or a check made out to LTHS PTO.

Testing Volunteers Needed!!
We would love to have 5 volunteers on Tuesday, March 29th and 5 volunteers on Thursday, March 31st to help monitor hallways, etc. during testing.  The times would be approximately 8:45am-1:45pm.  

We can split shifts if needed.  Please have volunteer bring reading, knitting, iPads, etc. to keep them busy.  We will check on them often to be able to go to restrooms, etc.  Volunteers will report to Stephanie Vickers upstairs.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Dr Crystal Collier will share the current science of how the changing teenage brain is affected by high-risk behaviors (drinking, smoking, etc.), and how it can interfere with healthy adult living in the future.  She is a compelling speaker who has presented in several previous LTISD forums.  This year she will directly address the high school students in assemblies during the school day.  If you have a child, or love a child, you will appreciate her presentation.

Students- if you need to complete your make up hours there will be make-up hours camp after school today - please stop by the attendance office to get signed up!!! Reminder- all make up hours will need to be completed prior to purchasing your prom ticket and for exemptions!! Lights. Camera. Action.

Attention prospective PAL students of 2016-2017...Interview notifications will be delivered Monday March 28th during your 3rd & 4th period classes. If you have any questions please feel free to see Mr. Rendon in J105.

Balfour will be in the CAC Team Meeting Room next Wednesday, March 30 during all lunches. Qualifying athletes can be measured and purchase letter jackets with patches or order individual patches if you already have a letter jacket. Only eligible students in Boys & Girls Basketball; Boys & Girls Swimming/Diving; Special Olympics; Wrestling, any athletes who qualified in the Fall, or Senior Athletes in any sport will be measured on this date. Information packets are available in the Athletics Office.

Attention Seniors: Please go to the Senior website to check out details for up-coming events. Senior Breakfast is March 30. You must be at the High School to catch the bus at 8:45. After the Breakfast, we will have panoramic pictures, and then pick up caps and gowns. Panoramic pictures will be taken on March 30 at 11:45. Various packages can be purchased and picked up on Thursday March 31 from 8:30-9 am or Friday April 1 during lunch. Cash, checks, or money orders accepted. Please see the Senior website for more information. Senior trip is March 31st to The Shore Club at Volente Beach. The cost is $30.00 which includes breakfast, lunch, transportation, and entrance to the park. We need your fee and permission slip by this coming MONDAY, March 28th. Come have fun at the lake with your friends. Permission slips are in Mrs. Gayle's, Ms. Stark's, Ms. Neff's and Mrs. Wheatley's rooms. The cast and crew of the UIL One Act Play, "Twelve Angry Jurors", advanced to the district level on Tuesday, March 22! Congratulations! The technical crew - Jessica Hook, Ben Bordelon, Ryan Hammock, Michael Kline and Carter Jespersen- received the Best Technical Crew Award. Outstanding Technician was awarded to Jessica Hook. All-star cast awards went to Mark Jespersen and Kaitlin Street. Honorable Mention Cast awards went to Kate Brimmer and Hannah Frye-Ginsberg. GREAT JOB!

Starting now, until the end of the school year, there will be a campus wide shoe drive in support of Pediatric Cancer Research. The Interact Club would like to get all students involved! Please turn in gently used tennis shoes to any of the collection boxes located in the library, the annex office, the main front office, or various classrooms. The tennis shoes will be sent to Max Cure Foundation where they will be recycled for $1 per pair of tennis shoes, which is then donated. Remember they must be tennis shoes, no flip flops. LET'S DONATE CAVS!
