Volunteers needed for the LTHS PTO Nominations Committee
| dThis is a FUN, SHORT-TERM (Feb 9 through early April), and flexible way to help out the PTO. We need at least 3 people to work together to recruit and nominate volunteers to serve on the 2016-2017 PTO Executive Board. The Lake Travis Cavalier Band is super excited to be hosting its 1st Annual Lake Travis ArtFest, held on April 2nd, 2016, at Lake Travis High School. We are looking forward to hosting 30 or more juried artists as they gather to sell their creations at our booths. We are planning for a family focused atmosphere with concessions, live performances and activities for children. Our own Lake Travis student artists will have the opportunity to sell their creations at their own booth as well.

Sign Up for the AMC Math Competition
|  The American Mathematics Competition exam will be given on Wednesday, February 17 at 8:00 a.m. in E203. The deadline for signing up is THIS Wednesday (January 20th at 4:00 p.m.) 9 - 12th graders can sign up at http://goo.gl/forms/MUkUFJ8dlz The MMA American Mathematics Competition is dedicated to the goal of strengthening the mathematical capabilities of our nation's youth. We believe that one way to meet this goal is to identify, recognize, and reward excellence in mathematics through the AMC national contest.
AMC 10 The AMC 10 is a 25-question, 75-minute, multiple choice examination in secondary school mathematics containing problems which can be understood and solved with algebra and geometry concepts. All USA, USA embassy, Canadian, and foreign school students in grade 10 or below are eligible to participate as long as they are under 17.5 years of age on the day of the contest.
AMC 12 The AMC 12 is a 25-question, 75-minute, multiple choice examination in secondary school mathematics containing problems which can be understood and solved with pre-calculus concepts. All USA, USA embassy, Canadian, and foreign school students in grade 12 or below are eligible to participate as long as they are under 19.5 years of age on the day of the contest. |

DECA raises funds for MDA
| 
DECA students, (L to R) Daniel Argueta, Kasey Sesny, and Faith Putman with the associate executive director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Austin, Michelle Theibaut. Mrs. Thiebaut came to Lake Travis High School on Monday 1/14/16 to accept a $1900 check on behalf of MDA from Lake Travis DECA. DECA raised this money by hosting the "CAVS in Style Fashion Show" on November 16, 2015. |
