Palestine Israel Network
27 November 2014

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

While many of us may be taking a holiday from email and the internet, we offer some resources and actions for when you do reconnect. May we all have a time of renewal and refreshment.

Reflecting on Thanksgiving: In July 2012 Maya Mikdashi wrote an essay for Jadaliyya 'What is settler colonialism?' As USers move through Thanksgiving Day 2014, we suggest a way of recognition would be reading and reflecting on this powerful essay.

Jonathan Kuttab's keynote address at the EPF 75th Anniversary Celebration in Los Angeles is up on EPF's YouTube channel:

The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is usually commemorated on 29 November.  This year the UN lifted it up on 24 November.  Learn what it's about and what was lifted up here.

Remember the SodaStream Month of Action beginning 28 November.  Just because SodaStream has announced it is closing its plant in an illegal settlement in the West Bank doesn't mean the campaign ends.  Check out resources and action ideas here

CODEPINK officially begins its campaign RE/MAX: No Open House on Stolen Land! on 29 November.  RE/MAX markets properties in settlements.  You can kickstart it by writing the Chair of its Board of Directors.  Here's a report on the campaign so far.  Note that the EPF PIN steering committee has endorsed this campaign.  Check out the Facebook event page here.

Advent begins this Sunday 30 November.  Kairos Palestine offers its Christmas Alert.  Read about how you can use it and act on it here.

We're updating our blog roll.  Do you have a favorite blog? Send us the link by email  and include a couple of sentences on why you like and read the blog.

Finally are you making connections between Ferguson and Palestine?  Send us a link to an article or a photo that resonated for you or your personal reflection.

If you'd like to get these emails and you are not an EPF or EPF PIN member or are not an Episcopalian, check this link and check off to get the PIN complimentary list.  Note also that you can contact members of the steering committee by clicking on their name in the sidebar.

Please remember to 'like' us on Facebook and comment on the postings in the community section of the PIN website
