Building Bridges for Sustainable Communities
Greetings!
The NACDEP conference is just 45 days away! I'd like to share a bit of information for those attending, and encourage those still thinking about it to register!
Your Conference Planning Team is working hard to ensure that you find value and fun in attending. Check out the NACDEP website for updated conference schedule of presentations and agenda.
In keeping with our theme we have integrated several new ideas.
1) Resource Table. Would you like to share information about a book, curriculum or program? We will have a resource sharing table at the Poster Session available FREE on a first-come basis. Please bring a small supply of fliers or brochures to share.
2) We are incorporating sustainable practices into the conference whenever possible. (see sidebar for some of these actions)
3) Bring a Bag. A fun, sustainable practice this year is the "bag exchange." We ask you to bring a bag and exchange it for one to use during the conference. We all get many bags collected at conferences, etc Perhaps you prefer a backpack style, or a messenger bag. How about one you can use for groceries? Bring a bag and exchange it for one you will use during and after the conference!
4) Partner's Day. Modeling our conference theme, we have designated Wednesday, April 14 as Partner's Day. We are extending a special rate for the day to our community-based, non-Extension partners to encourage them to attend, learn and connect with Extension to build bridges for sustainable communities! Why not invite your community partners to attend? Use the invitation on the NACDEP website. (Sorry, this rate is not available to NACDEP members)
The 2010 conference promises to be a valuable educational experience. We look forward to welcoming you to Minnesota!
