A Delicious Decade of Doing Good

10th annual Flavors of Fall is another sold out success

Cambridge, MA  (December 3rd, 2013) More than two hundred philanthropic food lovers came out in support of Community Cooks at the tenth annual Flavors of Fall on Monday, November 11th - raising more than $28,000 in one fell swoop.

The funds raised will help Community Cooks continue to offer support to at risk members of the community by providing home cooked meals for 23 direct-service partner agencies. Director Daniele Levine put it best "It's only by working together that we can best serve our neighbors in need - and the Flavors of Fall funds will allow us to go deeper, reach farther and build stronger partnerships within the community."

Lured to Regattabar at the Charles Hotel with the promise of delicious eats, great drinks, lively conversation and musical entertainment, guests were well rewarded. At the event's inaugural VIP hour attendees, including Cambridge Mayor Henrietta Davis, got a chance to chat with the Executive Directors from previous beneficiaries like City Sprouts and Cycle Kids. They also enjoyed a preview of Michael Scelfo's soon-to-open Alden & Harlow as they nibbled on cheese from Formaggio Kitchen and tossed back freshly shucked Island Creek Oysters.

Proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction will all be donated to Community Cooks, an elaborate network of volunteers who donate their time and their kitchen skills to prepare and deliver home-cooked meals to the vulnerable populations in Cambridge, Somerville and beyond. Community Cooks Director Daniele Levine says "We're so excited to be a part of this milestone event, which has benefited so many great local non-profits - including some of our partners in the community. It seems fitting that for its tenth year Flavors of Fall is supporting an organization that not only impacts Cambridge and Somerville but reaches even further into surrounding communities like Medford, Waltham and Lowell."
