Wine Harvest Festival - Sneek peek

Thursday 3rd of April 2014

    

A select handful of Canberra District wineries including ourselves will be heading to A. Baker on Thursday 3rd April giving an exclusive preview of what's in store for the 2014 Canberra District Wine Harvest Festival! 

 

Winemakers will each select a couple of their top wines for you to taste and enjoy in the underground bar in one of Canberras newest hot spots A. Baker in NewActon is the perfect setting to enjoy the finest wines with local produce and charcuterie.

 

Get in quick tickets are limited and only available online! 5:30-7pm. $30 + bf.

Wine Harvest Festival
Saturday 5 & Sunday 6 April 2014
 
 

Join us in celebrating the 2014 Canberra District Wine Harvest Festival.

A whole weekend celebration of the wine harvest in and around the region. Plenty of activities at 26 different locations featuring live music, special wine tastings, winery tours, lunches, dinners and more.  Head to Shaw Vineyard Estate & Flint in the Vines for the following:

Lyne Dingwall is a Murrumbateman artist and art tutor.

 

Lyne has been painting for over twenty years. She has worked with a number of tutors, including James Wynn, Tony Mason, Reg Campbell, Joshua Smith, Kasey Sealy, Doug Sealy and Michael Winters.

 

Lyne's work is diverse and embraces different mediums and methods, both traditional and representational.  Her work is represented here and overseas.

 

Having grown up and lived in Bathurst and Canberra, many of Lyne's landscapes are inspired by these areas. The exhibition also features still life and figure paintings.

 

Lyne will be joined by Julie Hawkins - an up and coming artist and will be displaying her works over the Harvest Festival weekend in our Shearing Shed Gallery.

 

Gallery opening times: 

Saturday 5th April - 10am to 5pm 

Sunday 6th April - 9am to 5pm

 

Easter with Flint in the Vines   

   

 

 

Moonlight Movie with Easter Egg Hunt 

Friday 11th April at 7pm. 

 

Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (1971).  This is a free family film for all the family to enjoy.  Film starts at 7pm with an easter egg hunt before at 6:30pm. Hunt is open for 4 to 12 year olds.  

 

Although free, Flint still need you to register that you are coming to the film and for the egg hunt. Register Now

 

 

Easter Weekend

 

Good Friday Lunch

Flint in the Vines are offering a three course seafood lunch from 12pm.

$90 per person.  Bookings 62275144 or email vines@flint.net.au.

Please note that the Cellar Door will be closed on Good Friday.

  

Easter Saturday

Flint in the Vines are offering lunch from 12pm and dinner from 6pm for a la carte dining.  Bookings are required so please call  62275144 or email vines@flint.net.au.

 

On the outdoor terrace we have live acoustic music by Jack Ray from 12-4pm, pull up a chair or grab a rug for the lawns and enjoy,

 

Casual food is available on the terrace from 12pm.  No bookings are required.  You  are welcome to bring a picnic rug  to enjoy the music but BYO food or beverage is not permitted. 

 

Easter Sunday

Flint in the Vines are offering a three course lunch from 12pm for $65 pp.  

Children $20pp. Bookings 62275144 or email vines@flint.net.au.

 

On the outdoor terrace we are joined by The Night Cafe with their french cafe jazz music.  Leila and Michael will play on the terrace from 12pm-4pm.  

Casual food is available on the terrace from 12pm.  No bookings are required.  You  are welcome to bring a picnic rug to enjoy the music but BYO food or beverage is not permitted. 

 

Easter Egg Hunt & Jumping Castle.

Every year a free Easter Egg hunt is held for the children.  11:45am. It is open to up to 8 year olds.  Register your child here. 

 

A jumping castle will be erected for the children to enjoy, we ask for a small gold coin donation which will be donated to Camp Quality. The jumping castle is available from 11am -2pm and is available for children up to the age of 8 years to use. 

 

Bacon & Eggs on the BBQ available from 11am on the terrace. 
  

Easter Monday

Flint in the Vines will be closed on Easter Monday but Shaw Vineyard Estate's Cellar Door will be open from 10am to 5pm.

 

Ruth Dodd Art Exhibition
Friday 18 April to Sunday 20 April 2014

Ruth studied Interior Design at the National Art School East Sydney and practiced as an interior designer before moving into the field of cartography. She moved to Canberra to continue her career in cartography, with a focus on the design of maps and commenced painting full-time after moving to a small acreage near Yass, NSW.
 
Paintings are in oils, watercolours or pastels. The oils are often executed with brush and palette knife.  Subjects are chosen from urban and rural landscapes as well as still life and an occasional portrait.

We hope to see you soon at Shaw Vineyard Estate Cellar Door.
