Vintage Update

Firstly I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and hopefully you managed to sneak in a break.
The 2013 vintage is shaping up well so far although I am a little hesitant saying so as this time last year we thought the same before the heavens opened and far too much rain came. Fingers crossed this year will be a bumper season with some fantastic wines ahead of us.

We have our latest Riscato bottling being released next week. The new bottling is a much lighter and fresher style, perfect for a hot summer afternoon. And keep your eye out for our 2012 Botrytis Semillon which will be our next release.

Shakespeare in the Vines
The Twelfth Night, This Sunday 20 January 2012

Professional theatre company Essential Theatre has been touring Shakespeare to wineries across Australia for close to a decade and has seen what a wondrous mix wine, food and Shakespeare is.
Filled with a cast of unforgettable characters, Twelfth Night combines high comedy with cruelty and the pangs of unrequited love with some of the subtlest poetry and most exquisite songs Shakespeare ever wrote.
Like in previous years Flint is offering a 2 course dining experience prior to the production from 4:00pm plus tickets $90 or a 3 course dinner after the production $110 pp. They are also offering cheese & wine hampers $45, antipasto and wine hampers $40 and have bean bag seating ($10) too this year! There will be a bar on site with many of our wines to enjoy.
Show commences at 6:30pm on the lawns. Gates open at 5pm.

Again Shaw Vineyard Estate will be at Sydney's biggest outdoor wine event, 'Sydney Cellar Door'. Bigger and better than ever, extending to Friday night in 2013. Wine-lovers and novices alike can discover the extraordinary range and depth of our state's wine-making without leaving the city.
Tour and taste the wonderful wineries of NSW as well as fine regional produce in Hyde Park, as part of the NSW Wine Festival. Meet the winemakers behind your favourite drops, from more than 90 wineries from the 14 regions of NSW and enjoy great picnic-in-the-Park food from Good Food Guide-rated restaurant stalls as well as free entertainment and tutored tastings.

Noosa International Food & Wine Festival

The Noosa International Food & Wine Festival is celebrating their 10th anniversary this year and we are excited to be part of it for the first time. The only Canberra winery that has ever been invited!!
If you live in the area or are planing a holiday in May, head to Noosa and come and see us at the International Food & Wine Festival. Owners Graeme & Ann Shaw will be there over the weekend showcasing our premium wine so make sure you say hello and ask to try our wines.

Flint in the Vines Restaurant has had a little makeover. They have taken all the good bits from 2012 and made them even better for 2013!
You'll see more shared dining options, a fresher space, a casual and relaxed atmosphere and great summer jugs for sharing amongst friends.
And don't forget every Wednesday there is live acoustic music from 6:30pm, outdoor moonlight movies this month and live outdoor theatre.
