Dear Friends,
It's hard to believe it is the last day of Chanukah- and it is only December 5th! I hope that you and your family had a wonderful holiday and enjoy these last few hours. Please see below for a review of some of the Chanukah excitement and events across Nageela.
JEP and Nageela winter events are happening! The Girls Party Shabbaton is this weekend in Long Island and the boys will follow in 2 weeks. Save the date for our annual Girls' Winter Ski Retreat in Camp Nageela over Martin Luther King Day- registration will open shortly.
The Camp Nageela Scholarship Fund is open and allocating generous funds towards camp tuition. We are very appreciative of the many families that submitted all of their paperwork early and already received money from our fund. Please note that though the final deadline to apply is January 31, applications are being considered on a first-come, first-served basis and we urge all families to apply as soon as possible.
On the note of camp scholarships, we ask all families requesting financial assistance to be in touch with their local Jewish Federation. Many have funds to help residents attend Jewish overnight camps and are now accepting applications. Deadlines vary by location. Please see below for more information.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful last day of Chanukah! Stay warm as we enter Winter!

Chanukah Across Nageela
What an amazing Chanukah in the world of Nageela! The festivities began with our Teen Girls 11.12.13 Pre Chanukah party at Slate NY. Our next "Warm up to Chanukah" Family Party took place in Atlantic Beach Jewish Center in Long Island the week before Chanukah. The first night of Chanukah included a Boys Camp Reunion at the New Jersye Devils Hockey Game and a Chanukah activity booth at Green Acres Mall. Other events on Chanukah included tables at Chanukah Parties in Morganville, New Jersey and Monsey, New York Hebrew Schools. The JEP Girls of Maryland Chanukah Party with our new Game Show equipment took place on Tuesday night and another party in Long Island at Congregation Sons of Israel last night.
A special shout-out to our staff, campers and families that helped us make these many programs happen (simultaneously).
What's up next? Be sure to follow Nageela on Twitter and Facebook so you won't miss out on any upcoming happenings!

Grants and Scholarships 2014
Camp Nageela reminds all first-time campers to apply for a $1000 first-time camper incentive grant through the Foundation for Jewish Camp and One Happy Camper. Eligibility requirements are that that the camper has never yet attended a Jewish overnight camp for 19 days and goes to a public school or non-Jewish private school. After registering for Camp Nageela, apply for a grant at www.onehappycamper.org.
Grants of up to $500 are available now through Partners in Torah/Jewish Rewards. Through a unique partnership with Partners in Torah, Nageela parents that join and complete a 14 session curriculum will earn $250 towards the camp tuition, up to $500 total (if both parents join). Click here for more information and to sign up today!
Many Jewish Federations across North America have generous funds available to help local residents attend Jewish overnight camp. Each year, many Nageela families receive funds this way. We strongly urge any family requiring financial aid this summer to check with their local federation. Most of these funds are now accepting applications and have upcoming deadlines. Click here to find your local Jewish Federation.
Reminder that all families interested in applying for a scholarship from the Camp Nageela Scholarship Fund should email Rabbi Wurem to request an application. Camper must first be registered for Camp Nageela 2014. If you are not yet registered for camp, please click here.
Camp Nageela is dedicated to providing an affordable camping experience for every Jewish child. Please check out the financial aid tab on our website for the most updated inforamtion about financial assistance for camp 2014.
