Dear Friends,

As the year is progressing and our year-round programs are in full swing, we are pleased to once again present a monthly newsletter. Please read through for many exciting updates and upcoming events. Camp, of course, is on our minds constantly as we are preparing for an unprecedented camping season. Just 237 days!

Mark your calendars for our Black Friday special that will be available November 29- December 1. Preorder your 2014 camp sweatshirt at over 50% off- just $12! An order form will be sent shortly before that date.

At this time, we are pleased to inform you that the Yetta Broitman Memorial Scholarship Fund will begin accepting applications as of today, November 1. Over the past few months, we have been actively working to raise this money and we are very grateful to our Scholarship Committee for their assistance. Please scroll down for more information about scholarships and incentive grants available for this upcoming summer.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful month and a very Happy Hanukkah! Hope to see everyone at the Family Warm Up to Hanukkah Dinner and Party on November 19 at 6pm at the Atlantic Beach Jewish Center! More information to follow shortly.

2014 Camp Grants

Most first-time Nageela campers are eligible for a $1000 camper incentive grant through the Foundation for Jewish Camp and One Happy Camper. www.onehappycamper.org is now accepting applications for the 2014 camping season. An eligible camper has never attended a Jewish overnight camp for 19 days and goes to a public school or non-Jewish private school. After registering for Camp Nageela, apply for a grant at www.onehappycamper.org.

Families that are part of PJ Library may be eligible to receive a first-time camper incentive grant through PJ Library. Unlike most One Happy Camper grants, PJ Library provides a limited amount of grants to day school students. If you are eligible, please apply at www.onehappycamper.org (the website will direct you to complete a form through PJ Library). PJ Library will be awarding their grants this year by raffle. All applications for PJ Library grants must be submitted by November 6, 2013.

 partners in torah

Grants of up to $500 are available now through Partners in Torah/Jewish Rewards. Through a unique partnership with Partners in Torah, Nageela parents that join and complete a 14 session curriculum will earn $250 towards the camp tuition, up to $500 total (if both parents join). This grant is awarded per family, not per camper. Click here for more information and to sign up today!

2014 Camp Scholarships

The Yetta Broitman Memorial Scholarship Fund is open as of today, November 1. New for this year, we will be processing all scholarship applications on a first-come, first-served basis. We anticipate a 2 week turnaround time from when the application is received in our office until an amount from the committee is allocated. To request an application, please contact Rabbi Wurem at ryw@campnageela.org or at 516-374-1528.

Please note that no scholarship form can be given unless the camper is already registered for Nageela 2014 with the $300 camp deposit. In the event that the amount allocated from our scholarship fund is insufficient for your family, please notify the office in writing within 2 weeks of hearing from the scholarship committee to withdraw your camp application and receive all funds (including the deposit) returned. To register for Camp Nageela 2014, please click here.

We urge all families requiring financial assistance to submit their applications as soon as possible. We will do everything we can to ensure that your child(ren) will receive a Jewish camping experience at Nageela this summer. Please note that the final deadline for returning camp families to submit a scholarship application is January 31, 2014.

Camp Nageela is dedicated to providing an affordable camping experience for every Jewish child. Please check out the financial aid tab on our website for more information about financial assistance.
