Good-Bye Tzippy

The entire JEP and Camp Nageela family says Good-bye to our Office Administrator Tzippy Holland as she leaves JEP to return to school to pursue a career in special education. Many thanks to Tzippy for her years of devoted work to our organization. We will miss you and look forward to seeing you at all Nageela events. Best wishes for continued success!

Dear Friends,

After all of our intense planning, it is incredible that camp is actually around the corner. I am so excited to welcome all of our campers for an unforgettable summer camp experience. Any boys or girls still interested in joining us this summer should complete the camp registration/waiting list application immediately. We are doing our best to accomodate as many families as possible.

This Sunday, Rabbi Sol and Nicole Appleman will be hosting a fundraising breakfast obn behalf of JEP and Nageela at their home in Woodmere. The success of this campaign is vital to the continuation of our many year-round and summer programs. We greatly appreciate each and every donation. Camp Nageela sends a newsletter each week of camp with exciting camp happenings and a weekly video to all camp parents. Please be aware that if we do not have your current email address on file, you will not receive the newsletter. To confirm that we have all appropriate family email addresses on file, please confirm with your family members that they received a copy of this newsletter. If a family member did not and/or you have additional family members that would like to receive the updates from camp, please provide us with the email addresses.

JEP/Nageela Fundraising Breakfast

In deference to the community challenges from Hurricane Sandy this year, the annual JEP/Nageela fundraising dinner did not take place. Instead, JEP/Nageela is hosting a breakfast on Sunday, June 16 at the home of Rabbi Sol and Nicole Appleman in Woodmere, the guest speaker is Charlie Harary. Packing for Camp

Time to get ready for camp!! Please download the camper packing list from the online Parent Service Center and pack all appropriate items. Remember to review the section of items not allowed in camp and do not send any of those items with your child.

2014 Camp Registration

We are very excited to open 2014 camp registration on Visiting Day, July 7. Registration on this day opens for both new and returning campers. New camper families interested in checking out the campgrounds can visit on this day.

All 2014 campers that register on Visiting Day (of either the boys or girls session) will receive $200 off the 2014 camp tuition plus an exclusive NageelaGear item!!

Camp Nageela will be hosting a Registration Week at the end of August! Each day will have exciting opportunities and raffle giveaways for 2014 campers. Additionally, Camp Nageela will be doubling the new friend referral credit and will be offering $200 for each new camper referred that registers by the end of the week! Spread the word now!

First-Time Camper Incentive Grant

All first-time campers are reminded to apply for a first-time camper incentive grant of $1000 towards the camp tuition. Please visit

and apply now. Eligiblity requirements are that the child has never attended a Jewish overnight camp for 19 days and goes to a public school or non-Jewish private school.

All families receiving incentive grants should have received an email from the Foundation for Jewish Camp with a short survey. The information gleaned from these surveys provides valuable information for the One Happy Camper program and will be used to better understand its impact. We at Camp Nageela are eager to have a 100% response rate to this survey from our community. Your participation will help us ensure the future of our One Happy Camper program! Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Nageela Superfans!

We know you are a fan of Nageela... but are you a Superfan? Now you can become one! Camp Nageela is introducing a new Superfan program through Socialtoaster. Joining this program involves linking and posting on your social networks (Facebook and twitter) about camp. Points are calculated based on activity and prizes can be earned, including Nageela superfan tshirts, beach towels and gym bags as well as tuition credit to Camp Nageela. This program is open to campers, parents and Nageela friends age 13 and above.
