Dear Friends,

We hope you enjoyed celebrating Chanukah with Camp Nageela!! With hundreds of people attending our Chanukah parties and many more entering our igift giveaway, we are happy to have celebrated with you! See below for pictures from all the events.
 
We at Camp Nageela join the world in mourning the loss of the 26 victims of the Newton tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of their families and the entire community. We would like to inform all parents that we are internally reviewing and upgrading our security protocols in preparation for summer 2013.     
 
At this time I am pleased to inform you about our new Wilderness Specialty Academy opening this summer for teenage boys. This new survival camp will give teens the opportunity to experience the great outdoors- living in tents, learning survival skills and create unforgettable memories. See below for more information. 
 
The Yetta Broitman Camp Nageela Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications. Please note that the deadline to apply is January 31. Please contact our office to request an application should you be requiring financial assistance for Camp Nageela 2013. 

We are currently updating the Camp Nageela website to make it easier and more enjoyable for you to find the information you need. Please bear with us through these changes. If you cannot find something on our site please contact our office and we will be happy to assist you.

Chanukah with Camp Nageela
The Long Island Party took place Sunday morning December 9 in Sons of Israel in Woodmere, New York. Hundreds joined for an incredible program featuring game show entertainment and good food. All children also participated in a wrapping gifts for children affected by Hurricane Sandy. Click here to see pictures from the event. The New Jersey Party took place Sunday morning December 9 at Monmouth Torah Links in Shalom Torah Academy. Similar to New York, over 100 children enjoyed a Chanukah themed game show and wrapped gifts for children displaced by Hurricane Sandy. Click here to see pictures. The 12.12.12.... not Girls Teen Party took place on 12.9.12. This event, in conjunction with Batya was in a class of its own, beginning with its setting of DoubleTree by Hilton in Tinton Falls. Teen girls from across the tristate area joined for this exclusive event- with a cafe style menu, exquisite décor, professional circus performance and animated music. View pictures here. With each participant walking out with a new '12.12.12... not' sweatshirt, the memories from this event are sure to last a lifetime!

The JEP Chanukah Party in Baltimore had over 100 girls, moms and grandmothers together and featured renowned hypnotist Ronnie Baras. Click here for pictures and an article about the event that appeared in the Baltimore Jewish Life.  Our JEP branch in Great Neck has opened a new program with monthly events for girls grades 3-7. The first event took place Monday, December 10. A great time was had by all at their Chanukah Party as they made sushi and took part in a chessed project. See pictures here. New Wilderness Program
A new survival camp for Jewish teenage boys where campers live in platform tents and learn basic wilderness survival skills needed to live off the land, including fire-making, building survival shelters, water collection and purification, identifying wild edibles, and how to make traps, bows and arrows, fishing spears and more. This program promotes maturity and emotional growth unparalleled by any other program. For more information, please contact our office.

Winter Retreat 2013
Join us on Martin Luther King Day for our annual Winter Retreat Ski Trip. Girls ages 10-18 are invited to join for an incredible 2 day vacation- skiing on the gorgeous slopes of the Catskills, swimming in our heated indoor pool and lots of good food! 2013 Grants and Scholarship Opportunities
All first-time campers are reminded to apply for a first-time campers grant of $1000 towards the camp tuition. Please visit www.onehappycamper.org to apply now.
 
Partners in Torah Grant Applications are now open. Through joining their program, parents can earn up to an additional $500 towards camp for each child. Click here to apply now.
A limited opportunity is available for Long Island residents to receive $800 from Partners in Torah. This, combines with a first-time camper incentive grant, leaves the remaining cost of camp at just $495! Please contact us for more information.    
Reminder: The Camp Nageela Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications. Please contact our office to request an application. Camp Nageela is committed to securing financial assistance to allow every Jewish child to enjoy the camp experience. Applications are due January 31.
