This Sunday is the last day of regular Sunday School. We will begin the summer schedule, with Sunday services at 8:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and  5:00 p.m., on May 25. There will not be a 5:00 service on May 25, however, due to Memorial Day weekend.

Philadelphia Mission Trip Meeting

If you are signed up to participate in the June 28-July 3 mission trip to Philadelphia, please come to our planning meeting on this Sunday from 12:45 - 1:45 p.m. We will divide up the pre-trip responsibilities amongst the group members, go over the schedule and assignments for the trip, and we will assess what supplies we need for our work at the shelter. Please let Rev. Laura if you are able to attend or not.

There will be a one-hour ACOLYTE TRAINING SESSION and pizza party on Sunday, June 1 immediately following the 10:00 a.m. service (approx. 11:45 a.m.). Rising 5^th graders and older are invited to be an integral part of worship at St. Anne's by joining the acolyte corps. No experience is necessary to be part of this fun and important ministry, but attending a training session before serving is encouraged.  Rev. Laura and our wonderful group of experienced acolytes will help you learn what you need to get started. Parents are encouraged to stay during the training to learn about acolyte scheduling and expectations. Please RSVP and direct any questions to Kelly Cosgrove. 

You have your tie-dye t-shirt, now all you have to do is sign up to walk with the St. Anne's RELAY FOR LIFE team, "The Grateful Living" on May 17-18.  More information about how to sign up and participate has already been emailed to you.

Finally, the 2^nd Annual MESSY GAMES END OF THE YEAR BBQ is scheduled for Saturday, May 31 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.  Bring a bag of chips, side dish, or dessert to share.  Trust us...you're gonna want to wear something you don't mind getting really stained and messy.  Seriously, trust us.

The Ageless Group / Life Planning Group will next meet at Saint Anne's on Saturday, May 17 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. There are three proposed agenda topics:

1. What topics would you like to discuss at future meetings over the next several months? A starter list, drawn from your feedback during the life planning workshops, will help drive the discussion. 

2. Should the group continue to meet over the summer months, usually on the fourth Saturday morning of each month, or should we take a summer break?

3. Is there a more appropriate name than the Ageless Group for this gathering?

St. Anne's recently partnered with the Capital Area Food Bank to fill our Food Pantry. This partnership provides us with fresh produce, however, the produce comes in 40-50 pound bags. This is a great opportunity for our friends with disabilities at SPARC who also want a opportunity to help others. On May 19, the Book Group will be meeting at Café Montmartre in Lake Anne Plaza to discuss Shores of Knowledge: New World Discoveries and the Scientific Imagination by Joyce Appleby. The Book Group will take a break for the summer and meet up again on Sept. 15. At that time they will discuss The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd.
