Holy Week Schedule
Please join us this evening at 7:30 for our Tenebrae Service. This service combines scripture and music and the gradual extinguishing of candles and other lights in the church as we prepare for the Easter Triduum.

On Maundy Thursday, April 17, there will be an Agape Meal at 6:15 p.m. followed by a Maundy Thursday service with foot washing at 7:30 p.m. The Agape Meal is a potluck Mediterranean-style meal with salads, cheese and bread, olives, dates and other items. You are invited to bring an item to share and join in the fellowship on this evening. Please see the sign up sheet in the Narthex.

On Good Friday, April 18, there will be a 12:00 noon service, 1:00 p.m. Stations of the Cross, and a 7:30 p.m. service. At 7:30 p.m., this special service will blend the Passion of Christ from John's Gospel with John Rutter's Requiem as performed by St. Anne's Choir and Orchestra.

On Holy Saturday, April 19, there will be a Paschal Dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Great Vigil at sunset. This potluck dinner typically features roasted lamb and other side dishes. Look for a sign-up for the potluck in the Narthex.

On Easter Sunday there will be 7:45 a.m., 9:00 a.m., and 11:15 a.m. services. Following the 9:00 a.m. service there will be an Easter Egg Hunt for children between the ages of 2 and 10. There is no 5:00 p.m. service on Easter Sunday.

Stations of the Cross

Each year on Good Friday, Christians all over the world walk the Stations of the Cross, a commemoration of Jesus' walk to Calvary. The devotion we are using is an adaptation to local usage of a custom widely observed by pilgrims to Jerusalem: the offering of prayer at a series of places in that city traditionally associated with our Lord's passion and death. This Friday at 1:00 p.m. our Stations of the Cross liturgy will be complemented by photographs from recent world events.  We will walk the Way of the Cross with Jesus and pray for the life of the world along the way.  We hope you will join us on this powerful journey.

Choir to Perform Requiem on Good Friday
At the 7:30 p.m. Good Friday service, St. Anne's Choir and Orchestra will perform John Rutter's Requiem. "This is one of the best-loved and most widely performed choral works of the twentieth century. The texts are from the Missa pro Defunctis, the Book of Common Prayer, and the Psalms. The seven sections form a meditation on the themes of life and death: prayers on behalf of all humanity, psalms, personal prayers to Christ, and in the central Sanctus an affirmation of divine glory." (from Oxford University Press) This special Good Friday service will blend the Passion of Christ from John's Gospel with Rutter's Requiem. Please plan to join us!

Helping People of Faith Transform Policy

For the 32nd year, the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy helped people of faith from across the Commonwealth to engage Virginia's General Assembly to transform public policies and create systemic justice. A look back through our data paints an inspiring picture of how people of faith in Virginia are taking action for sound and compassionate public policies in our Commonwealth. Everyone's participation in advocacy this past year has mattered and our collective voice is making a difference. For the full report on the Center's efforts during the 2014 General Assembly, please follow this link to our latest Faithful Engagement Report.

We are in need of someone to wash and iron some of our robes -- approximately 5 to 10 robes -- every two weeks. If you would be able to help with this activity, please contact Susan. Thanks!
