Did You Know?
Ride on! Ride on in the majesty!
Hark! All the tribes hosanna cry;
Thy humble beast pursues his road with palms
     and scattered garments strowed.

Ride on! Ride on in majesty!
In lowly pomp ride on to die;
Bow thy meek head to mortal pain,
     then take, O God, thy power, and reign.
-- Verses 1 and 5 from Hymn 156, Ride on! Ride on

Please join us this Sunday for the Blessing of the Palms and celebration of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The 9:00 and 11:15 services will start outside with a Processional.

Our Cuba team has returned with photos and stories to tell. They are getting their photos organized and will be sharing their stories on our website, Facebook page, and in person. While in Cuba they visited several communities within a two hour drive of Havana. They worked at a church that is being rebuilt and at a youth camp as well as visited with families in their homes and communities. Please be sure to welcome our travelers home and stay tuned for more updates!

Choir to Perform Requiem on Good Friday
At the 7:30 p.m. Good Friday service, St. Anne's Choir and Orchestra will perform John Rutter's Requiem. "This is one of the best-loved and most widely performed choral works of the twentieth century. The texts are from the Missa pro Defunctis, the Book of Common Prayer, and the Psalms. The seven sections form a meditation on the themes of life and death: prayers on behalf of all humanity, psalms, personal prayers to Christ, and in the central Sanctus an affirmation of divine glory." (from Oxford University Press) This special Good Friday service will blend the Passion of Christ from John's Gospel with Rutter's Requiem. Please plan to join us!

Food Pantry Update and Challenge
We placed our first order with Capital Area Food Bank! Ordering from their warehouse each month will help stretch our food pantry budget.

Due to the availability, size, or quantity of the items we need, we couldn't get everything. So, there is a Food Pantry challenge!

We still need:

19 1-lb bags of beans

5 1-lb bags of white or brown rice

32 16-18 oz jars of jelly

26 10-29 oz boxes of low-sugar cereal

Size 6 diapers

If anyone would like to donate a large (20-50 pound) bag of rice there are people who will package it in smaller bags. Besides donating the food there are volunteer opportunities involving shelving, bagging, and distributing the food items. The next distribution is Thursday, April 17. If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions please contact Susanne Walsh (703-435-0568), Food Pantry Coordinator. Thank you for your continuing support.

Help!!
The person who for years has quietly and without fanfare washed and ironed our acolyte robes has recently moved away. We are in need of someone to wash and iron some of our robes -- approximately 5 to 10 robes -- every two weeks. If you would be able to help with this activity, please contact Susan. Thanks!
