A "Closer Look" Gallery Talk
Friday, September 5, 4:30 p.m.
in Stirn Auditorium

Enjoy a lively "closer look" at highlights of the Mead's art collection from the unique vantage point of first-year Amherst students. As part of an orientation program in August, 36 new students took part in an immersive museum experience. The students, working in four teams, created personal responses to the Mead's Assyrian reliefs, the Jacobean Rotherwas Room, Thomas Cole's pendant pair The Past and The Present, and works by Diego Rivera and George Bellows. Come hear their entertaining presentations about their discoveries!

This event begins in Stirn Auditorium, adjacent to the Mead, and is followed by light refreshments in the museum galleries.

This event is FREE and open to the public.
