Portrait of Jennie

The Mead's Summer Film Series kicks off tomorrow afternoon! Join exhibition curator Bradley Bailey for a screening of the 1948 romantic drama Portrait of Jennieabout a New York City painter (played by Joseph Cotten) who falls in love with Jennie (Jennifer Jones), a mysterious young woman he meets in Central Park.  The portrait of Jennie was made for the film by Robert Brackman, a successful painter known primarily for still lifes and figure composition, in addition to his famous portraits of Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh (1938), works the Mead has owned since 1954 and has currently on display in the special exhibition 
 

The Mead Summer Film Series is FREE and open to the public.
