Exhibition Opening Celebration
Friday, September 6 at 4:30 p.m.

Join us for the opening celebration of the special exhibition
This Just In! Additions to the Collection from Pompeii to Today, featuring Amherst's newly acquired Roman sarcophagus.

At the event, we'll debut a new translation of the Latin poem inscribed on the sarcophagus, a translation composed by former U.S. Poet Laureate
Richard Wilbur. We'll also tour other exhibition highlights (did we mention the exquisite Albrecht Drer engraving and Vik Muniz photographs?) and conclude with a lively reception.

The exhibition and series of related events have been made possible
with generous support from the Hall and Kate Peterson Fund; the David W. Mesker, Class of 1953, Fund; the Charles H. Morgan Memorial Fund; and the Friends of the Mead Art Museum.
