Professional racing stars Kenseth and Chitwood visit USF
Two of professional car racing's stars - one on the racetrack, the other in the boardroom - visited USF on Wednesday. They came in advance of the Daytona 500 later this month and chatted with students about the business and engineering of the sport. Read more.
Fintech Business Plan Competition offers USF students chance at $15,000
Applications are open for the 2016 Fintech Business Plan Competition, whose winners have gone on to launch a watermelon water manufacturer, a competitive paintball field, and a medical modeling company, among other businesses. Read more.
USF marketing professor awarded Fulbright Distinguished Chair position
University of South Florida Marketing Professor James Stock, who is a Distinguished University Professor, has been awarded the prestigious Fulbright-Hanken Distinguished Chair in Business and Economics at the Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki, Finland - the first such Fulbright award given to a USF Muma College of Business faculty member. 25 Under 25 program applications open
The 25 Under 25 program recognizes outstanding undergraduate business students who excel in academics, professional development, leadership, and community/campus service early in their collegiate careers.   • In an article in the Journal of Information Systems, Associate Dean Jacqueline Reck and Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy Director Uday Murthy were ranked No. 4 and 6 respectively nationally in terms of the number of citations to their articles on the accounting information systems topic.
  • Finance Professor Christos Pantzalis and Finance Department Chair Dan Bradley have a paper forthcoming in the Journal of Financial Economics: "The Influence of Political Bias in State Pension Funds."
  • Marketing Professor James Stock was awarded a Fulbright Distinguished Chair position in Helsinki, Finland.
Alumni Notes
  • Morris Porton ('75, Finance) has been elected chair of the Pasco-Hernando State College Board of Trustees. Porton is a retired Florida Traditions Bank senior vice president who previously served on the college foundation's board.
  • Fadwa Hilili ('15, MACC) is now a financial analyst at The Walt Disney Company. A former 25 Under 25 honoree, Hilili previously worked for TECO Energy and interned at Deloitte. 
  • Jessica Deleanides ('15, MBA) is now CRM consultant at Tribridge a technology services firm specializing in business applications and cloud solutions.
