Celebration of Free Enterprise To Honor Jeff Vinik
The 2015 Celebration of Free Enterprise will be an exciting evening honoring one of Tampa's most successful businessmen and most innovative visionaries - Jeff VinikA celebration in every sense of the word, this not-to-be missed event raises funds for student success initiatives at USF's Muma College of Business. Playing to Win: Homecoming Lecture Series on Oct. 9 with Women's Tennis Association CEO
Our annual homecoming lecture series will feature Stacey Allaster, CEO of the Women's Tennis Association, speaking about building a brand in an extremely competitive market. As chair and CEO of the WTA, Allaster played a key role in developing the organization's strategic plan. Muma Leadership Program will prepare students to enter workforce
A brand-new professional development program will kick off in October.  The Muma Leadership Program certifies students as the best of the best that the Muma College of Business has to offer. Read more about the two-year professional development program designed to help students prepare to enter the workforce.  Targeted juniors will be invited to an information session about the new program.  Read more. 
  
Supporters Barron and Dana Collier give $10.85 million to Muma College of Business 
The University of South Florida announced on August 27 that it received a $10.85 million gift from Barron (Barry) Gift Collier III and his wife, Dana Collier, to name a unit of the business school that focuses on student success and career preparedness programs. The office was renamed as the Collier Student Success Center at USF's Muma College of Business. The gift is part of the $1 billion USF: Unstoppable Campaign. If you've met our dean, Moez Limayem, you've probably heard him speak about how much he loves his job. In a new University of South Florida "Meet the Dean" series, he gets to talk more about being a dean, but also about his life outside of work and the path that led him to USF. USF's Doctor of Business Administration program accepting applications 

The USF Doctor of Business Administration program is accepting applications for the spring semester. You can

Alumni Notes
  • Thomas R. Oliveri ('86, Finance) has been appointed market executive for the Broward region of Northern Trust and will be based in Fort Lauderdale. Oliveri was previously managing director of the wealth advisory services firm based in Miami.
  • Gina Ferrara ('14, International business and Marketing) established her own consulting company, GF Global LLC, which facilitates communication between factories in China and companies in America. She moved to China in 2013, where she is pursuing a master's degree in international trade and continues to study Mandarin Chinese.

  • Finance Assistant Professor Jung Chul recently had the paper "Political Power, Economic Freedom and Congress: Effects on Bank Performance" accepted by the Journal of Banking and Finance.
  • Lauren Di Giovanni joined Undergraduate Advising as the BBC advisor. 

Scholarship Opportunity for Undergraduate
Business Students   
Undergraduate business majors who have participated in workshops or seminars about business ethics have a chance to win a scholarship by detailing what they learned. Read more about a new Business Ethics Initiative, sponsored by the Exide Professorship.  The deadline to apply is October 1.
