Former white-collar criminal and current Forbes contributor Walter Pavlo will kick off a panel discussion on the danger of white-collar crimes on Oct.10, 2014 at 4:30 P.M. at the University of South Florida College of Business. The event will include a discussion on business ethics and how analytics and creativity can be used to curb white-collar crime. USF Entrepreneurship Program ranked 13th nationally

USF's graduate program is the only Florida university listed among the nation's 
best entrepreneurship education programs. The graduate program is ranked No. 13 overall and is also the sixth-highest rated program among public universities. It's the eighth consecutive year the Center for Entrepreneurship has been ranked on the Top 25 list. Read more.

 

College of Business researchers receive $300,000 to develop new course  


The College of Business Information Systems Decision Sciences Department, in collaboration with with the School of Information and the Criminology Department, received the grant from the National Science Foundation to create a capstone course for students in the new Master's in Cybersecurity Program. Florida Export Series to help grow export market  

 

With the largest port in the state of Florida, Tampa is the perfect place to break into the international market. The Florida SBDC at University of South Florida will present the Florida Export Series for local entrepreneurs who want to break into the export market, beginning October 7 at Port Tampa Bay.

Accounting student grows through involvement 

Before joining student organization Beta Alpha Psi, Sarah Winston said she was a student who would only show up to campus for class. But after getting involved, the master's student says she began a journey of personal and professional growth. Read more.
Alumni Notes

Kimberly Ross ('92, Accounting) has been named senior vice president and chief financial officer of Baker Hughes, an oilfield services company. Ross previously worked as executive vice president and CFO of Avon Products, Inc. She will begin her new role on October 22. 


Matthew Casey ('13, Accounting & Finance) has accepted a position with Logan Circle Partners as a junior research analyst.

ISDS Associate Don Berndt received a grant from the National Science Foundation for $300,000 for his research, "EAGER: III: CIFRAM: Distributed Computing Approaches for the Analysis of Enterprise and Systemic Risk using a Financial Contract-Based Infrastructure."
