When USF business student Thang "Ryan" Nguyen moved to the United States from Vietnam, he could barely speak English. Nguyen offered to tutor his classmates in math and science -- subjects in which he excelled -- in exchange for English lessons. Now, he is a leader in the College of Business.

- At USF's fall commencement, accounting student Ahad Khan was designated a King O'Neal Scholar, recognizing his achievements in graduating from USF with a 4.0 GPA. He was also a 25 Under 25 Recipients during his time at USF.
- Accounting Instructor Jennifer Cainas and ISDS Professor Grandon Gill were selected to receive USF's Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award for 2013-2014, an award that recognizes the best teachers at the university.
- The USF Sport & Entertainment Management program, in partnership with Fox Sports Florida, is hosting a sports lecture series January 13-16. The lecture series will feature some leading thinkers in the sports industry: Eastman and Beaudine CEO Bob Beaudine, ESPN Analyst Andrew Brandt, Women's Tennis Association CEO Stacey Allaster, and "Zebras and Cheetahs" author Colby B. Samantha Lutz ('13, Finance & Psychology) joined the marketing department at TAG Alliances. She attended the TAG Alliances 29th International Conference in Munich, Germany, assisting with the management of the three-day event.
