College of Business maintains AACSB accreditation
The accreditation recognizes excellence in business and accounting.

The University of South Florida College of Business and School of Accountancy were recognized for excellence this week when the Board of Directors of AACSB International - the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business - reaffirmed their accreditation, a move that keeps the university on a list of just 178 institutions worldwide certified for quality in both overall business and accounting programs. School of Accountancy programs make top rankings
The undergraduate and graduate programs are in the Top 50.

For the first time, the USF School of Accountancy's undergraduate and graduate programs are both ranked in the top 50 accounting programs nationally.

In the recent 2012 rankings released by the Public Accounting Report, USF's undergraduate accounting program ranked No. 35 nationally among all programs, and its master's program ranked No. 41 nationally. Read more.

Three agencies offer students digital marketing guidance.

Ashley Macaluso, a 2007 marketing grad, has come a long way only to find herself right back where she started - in class at USF. The difference is that this time around she is in front of the class, featured as a guest lecturer representing her employer, Bayshore Solutions.

Bayshore Solutions, an integrated digital media agency, is one of three local agencies that are partnering with the USF College of Business for a course in digital marketing. Read more.

A longtime businessman and serial entrepreneur, Scott Riley used to think of internships as students answering phones or getting coffee over their summer break.

Wolfgang Jank's study found new, conclusive evidence on  the efficacy of trust seals.

One of the most frustrating moments for online retailers is when a potential customer has items in his or her virtual cart, but then leaves the site without buying anything. But what can retailers do to reliably encourage customers to take that leap from shopping to buying? That's the question ISDS Professor Wolfgang Jank sought to answer in his recent research on the effect of trust seals on online shopping. Read more.
USF AMA, advisor receive top awards
The chapter received a Silver Award, and Victoria Panzer received a faculty advisor award.  

  USF's American Marketing Association received a Silver Chapter Award at the association's awards banquet on Saturday in New Orleans, continuing the student organization's run as a top chapter in North America. Read more.
Northern Trust economist reflects on career
Paul Kasriel, a USF alumnus, spent 25 years as the bank's chief economist. 
 
Paul Kasriel's long career in economics started with a professor taking a sick day.

 

As a student at USF in the 60s, he took an economics elective that he didn't find especially interesting. Then one day, the professor was out sick and another faculty member, Jim Herman, filled in. Read more.

Fifth Annual Elevator Competition to be held Saturday, April 6
The yearly event helps students gain confidence and learn presentation skills.

 Business students everywhere are familiar with the "elevator pitch": the one-minute speech you'd give about yourself and your abilities if you happened to find yourself in the elevator with a recruiter for the job of your dreams.

For the fifth year, the College of Business is sending its students to the elevators -- literally. Read more.

Business students headed to regional ad competition
Business students Jessica McLemore, Chelsea O'Neill, and Drew Senesac are on a 16-person USF team heading to the regional National Student Advertising Competition in Jacksonville on April 19. The winning team in each district and one wild card team then advances to compete on the national level at the American Advertising Federation National Conference in June. Go Business Bulls!

Marketing Associate Professor Andy Artis, along with USF PhD graduate Dave Fleming, recently won the Outstanding Paper Award for the Education Track at the March 2013 Marketing Management Association Conference for their paper, "Trends in Academic Research: A 15 Year Analysis of Published Research in Marketing Journals."

 

Marketing Associate Professor Dipayan Biswas and doctoral student Courtney Szocs had a paper accepted at the Customer Insights Conference held annually at Yale School of Management.
