Art Showcase - April 3
Don't miss out on the opportunity to view and purchase your child's artwork at the Art Showcase next Thursday, April 3 from 3 to 6 p.m.  Proceeds go to benefit the Vanderlyn art department. 

Student artwork from the Reflections Contest will also be on display at the Showcase and you'll be able to listen to and view entries in Music Composition, Dance Choreography and Film Production as well.

Volunteers for Art Showcase   

Volunteers are needed to help with check out for parents purchasing artwork at the Art Showcase from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 3. 


Please contact Louisa Boss or Camilyn Germann if you are available to help.

Vanderlyn will host Kindergarten Round-Up on Tuesday, April 15 for rising kindergartners.  

 

Kindergarten Round-Up is a pre-registration for rising K students. Pre-registration benefits students by allowing the administration to properly plan for the incoming class of new students.

Parents and children who are age 5 or older on or before September 1, 2014, AND reside in the Vanderlyn school district are invited to attend. Please forward this information to any person you know that this event may affect.

Please join us for our next Dunwoody-Chamblee Parent Council meeting on Wednesday, April 2 starting at 6:30 pm.

Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking and Keeping Your Kids Cyber Safe!

 

Guest Speakers: 

 

Maralyn Lieberman from Atlanta Based Organization Street Grace - is passionate about bringing awareness to the devastating problem of the trafficking of children in our state, and around the globe.  

 

Ben Halpert from Savvy Cyber Kids - Savvy Cyber Kids is a non profit organization that provides parents and teachers with resources and courses on raising cyber savvy kids.

 

Officer Timothy Fecht from the Dunwoody Police Department will talk about cyber safety and the new program in Dunwoody.

 

All are welcome to attend, but due to the subject matter, parents may want to leave younger children at home.

Due to changes with CRCT testing and the many events occurring in the month of May, the following adjustments have been made to the school calendar:

 

STEM Night, Friday, May 9 from 4-6 p.m.
Field Day (grades K-2) Thursday, May 15
Field Day (grades 3-5) Friday, May 16
Awards Day (grades 3-4) Monday, May 19
Awards Day (grades 1-2) Tuesday, May 20
5th Grade Celebration, Friday, May 23

VikingViews@yahoo.com.  Photos must be in JPEG format and have parental approval or release.
 
Non-Vanderlyn Community Events may be included on the Vanderlyn PTA website.
