Special Message from Mrs. Crenshaw
Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! Brrrrr, Old Man Winter has blown the cold weather our way! With the freezing temperatures tomorrow morning, we anticipate an increase in car ridership. Therefore, we want to prepare as best we can for a smooth morning carpool. Due to the frigid cold, we will not allow student patrols to be outside for morning carpool. This will leave us very short-staffed to open car doors. We are requesting your help by asking for carpool volunteers to work in five minute shifts to open doors and relieve our staff so they will not be over-exposed to the cold weather. Our carpool opens from 7:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. We must take proactive precautions to protect our staff from possible hyperthermia and frostbite which may result in longer carpool lines unless we have parent volunteers to assist us. We do not want anyone to remain outside for more than five minutes. We ask for your patience in advance as we anticipate longer carpool lines. Thank you for your support and understanding as we place a high priority on employee safety rather than convenience.

Other cold weather reminders:
  • There will be indoor recess during freezing temperatures.
  • Students need to dress appropriately for the weather (coats, hats, mittens, scarves)
  • Patrols will not be on carpool during inclement weather.

Sincerely,
