Dear Viking Family,

Words cannot express the pride I felt as I lead a host of costumed words marching across our campus in the first ever Vanderlyn Parade! The costumes were astounding and wildly whimsical! I was truly amazed by all the ingenuity that the teachers and students expressed with their robust vocabulary words. Most importantly, by engaging students in metacognition, they will retain the knowledge gained from this invaluable experience as they become life-long learners.

The attendance at the parade was amazing, and we are fortunate to have so many parents support our efforts. Your presence was very much appreciated, and all the cheers, applause and fanfare made the momentum even greater. Thank you for celebrating the learning with us by taking part in our ongoing efforts to promote literacy and increase robust vocabulary and word recognition among our students.
