ICE CREAM FRIDAYS ARE BACK!

Ice Cream Fridays have returned to Vanderlyn! For this weekly treat to continue, our students and staff need volunteers that are willing to work a Friday Lunch Bunch shift. The lunch room staff just does not have enough people to serve lunch AND ice cream.
It is extremely important that Friday volunteers honor their commitment to work their Lunch Bunch shift. No Shows put Ice Cream Fridays in danger of being cancelled!
Lunch Bunch needs volunteers throughout the week, not just on Fridays. To volunteer for a shift, follow this Sign Up Genius link and pick a time. This is a FUN way to volunteer and see the kids during the day!

Volunteer Spotlight - Alicia Fowler

Alicia has served on the Teacher/Staff Appreciation Committee for the past two years. As a former employee of Williams Sonoma, she has shared her talents by brightening many days for our teachers and staff. Alicia has made countless delicious and gorgeous cupcakes and cookies over the past two years and has never asked for reimbursement or recognition. Thank you so much, Alicia, for all your time and devotion. You make Vanderlyn a sweeter place!

Walk to School Day - March 6

Get your sneakers on, Vikings!
Wednesday, March 6 is Georgia Walk-to-School Day. All the Dunwoody elementary schools are competing for the most walkers!
The principal of the school with the most walkers will be presented an award at that morning's DCPC meeting. And...the principals of the losing schools will have to wear the t-shirt of the winning school for the day! In addition, Vanderlyn will present our much-coveted "Golden Shoe Award" to the class with the highest participation rate!
Let's get walking to ensure that all the Dunwoody principals will be wearing Vanderlyn spirit wear!
Go Vikings!!!
If you live too far from the school to walk from home, you may park and walk from the southeast parking lot of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church on Mt. Vernon.
