Co-Presidents' Message

We encourage all Vanderlyn families to regularly visit the vanderlypta.com website for school and community news. In case you haven't been to the site lately, you should know that it has been updated by our fantastic parent volunteer Gaia Shamis. With our webmaster's support, the website allows access to information that every family will want to know.

Historically, the Viking Views communications have been used to distribute a wide variety of information. Our current objective for Viking Views is to funnel to our readers timely information that relates to news specific to Vanderlyn and DHS feeder schools. Articles that don't relate to events at Vanderlyn or our area schools are posted on our website.

You should also be aware that a calendar of school events is easily accessible on our website. We think you will find that vanderlynpta.com is worth your time to visit!

On another note, the year is drawing to a close and folks will begin making their year-end tax-deductible donations. Please remember Vanderlyn's Annual Fund if you are going through this process. Finally, tax receipts for donations have been distributed to those who have support the Annual Fund. If you need a copy for your records, contact PTA Second Vice President Randi Siegel for help.

Have a great week, and don't forget to check out vanderlyntpta.com!

Scouts to Honor All Who Have Served

Veterans Day reminds us how vital it is to support those who put themselves in harm's way to protect our freedoms. To honor the courageous men and women of our Armed Forces, Scouts from across Dunwoody are encouraged to wear their full Scout uniform on Veterans Day, Monday, November 12. If you are a Vanderlyn Girl Scout or Cub Scout, please be sure to wear your uniform next Monday. Plus, uniformed Scouts may join in reciting the pledge of allegiance during morning announcements.

Together we will honor those who have served our great country.

Food Drive - November 5 - 11

Dear Parents,

The Vanderlyn Citizenship Committee will host a food drive from November 5 - November 11.  Donations will be given to a local food closet.  Please mark your calendars and look for more information in future Viking Views!  Thank you.
