The Ridgefield Library and Ridgefield High School have teamed up to offer an intergenerational reading project titled Books Building Bridges. Discussions are open to high school and college students and adults. Refreshments will be served. Register for November 18; register for November 23.

ARTalk with Gregory Maguire: Green Witches, White Rabbits and Wild Things
New York Times-bestselling novelist Gregory Maguire, author of Wicked and After Alice and three dozen other books for adults and children, will speak on the place of childhood reading and writing in his growth as a writer, with special appreciation for his friend and mentor, Ridgefield's own Maurice Sendak. Maguire's Wicked inspired the Broadway blockbuster musical of the same name. Maguire's 2015 Boston Globe - Horn Book Honor Book winner, Egg & Spoon, is in development as a film for Universal Studios. Gregory Maguire is also a critic, reviewing occasionally for the New York Times Book Review; he is the author of Making Mischief: A Maurice Sendak Appreciation. For this ARTalk, Maguire will give an illustrated talk, followed by a short interview and an opportunity for Q and A. Copies of Wicked, After Alice, Egg & Spoon and Making Mischief will be available for sale and signing thanks to Books on the Common.
This program is part of the Library's "Curiouser and Curiouser" celebration of the 150th anniversary of the publication of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and is made possible by the Friends of the Ridgefield Library. |

We are now offering use of our 3D printer to Ridgefield Library cardholders. Before reserving printer time (available in two-hour blocks), we require attendance at a 90-minute orientation session to go over how to format a design to be print ready, how to operate the Makerbot, and for an overview of our usage policies. Patrons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please register.

The Library is pleased to join the Ridgefield Playhouse in bringing to Ridgefield great stories, told through opera, ballet and drama by the greatest performing companies in the world - the Metropolitan Opera, Bolshoi Ballet and National Theatre of London. Come to the Library to learn more about the history of these masterworks and their creators, then experience extraordinary performances on the big screen in HD @ the Playhouse.
Ridgefield Library cardholders receive the Playhouse member discount price of $20 on tickets to these HD cultural series - just show your card at the box office.
