Effective Communication with Prospects and Donors: You Can Do It! with Judith Margolin
Fundraising is all about relationships, and relationships are based on productive communication. Nonprofits today engage in all kinds of communication activities in a variety of print and online formats. Yet most of their end products fail to produce the desired results with funders and prospects. This workshop explores the who, what, why, and when of "donor-centric" communication with special attention to nonprofit newsletters, web sites, and grant reports. Getting to know and segmenting your audiences are also addressed, as is conducting a successful site visit with your funder, assessing and readjusting your communications efforts for maximum impact, and cultivating all donors for future support. Interactive exercises are included to supplement what is learnt. Please register.
Judith Margolin is an independent consultant, facilitator, webinar presenter, and workshop leader on foundations and grants. She served as Vice President for Planning and Evaluation at the Foundation Center, the nation's leading authority on philanthropy, for a number of years.

Anna Egge @ Ridgefield Folk
|
Sunday, November 8, 2:00 PM
Main Program Room
Ridgefield Folk with Anna Egge
When Saskatchewan-born and Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Ana Egge set out to record her most recent album, 2011's Bad Blood, she lined up some big time help. Steve Earle, who Egge first met when she sang on the Earle-produced Blue Boy album from Ron Sexsmith, served as the album's producer, and the sessions were done in Woodstock at Levon Helm's studio. Seeing Ana perform live for the first time, you are immediately struck by the combination of an uncompromising fearlessness, her confidence in her place on stage and the earthy wit and kindness that is the lens she uses to see the world. Not to mention the crystal clear and uniquely affecting voice that is her vehicle. Ridgefield Folk is made possible thanks to The Friends of the Ridgefield Library. Free tickets can be picked up at the door from 1:00 PM on the day of the show. Doors open at 1:30 and the show starts at 2:00 PM.
