In the state of CT, public libraries are among the locations where voter registration forms are distributed. To celebrate National Voter Registration Day, we are teaming up with Ridgefield's town registrars and the League of Women Voters Ridgefield chapter to offer convenient onsite registration.  Stop by anytime between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
College Admissions Series Continues this Week

Finding a College that Fits
with Dr. William Elliot, Vice President Emeritus, Carnegie Mellon University 

The Ridgefield Library is excited to co-sponsor the Wooster School College Admissions Speaker Series for 2015 to bring in professionals from a diverse pool of excellent colleges and universities to look at the complex college selection, application and funding process from different perspectives, helping local students and their parents think more deeply about how to best match their search with who they are and the experience they would like to have in college.  

Three of the series events will occur at the Ridgefield Library and four will occur at Wooster School.  The Library events are open to the public and seats can be reserved through the Library website. Limited seating is available to the general public for the events at Wooster School and can be reserved by calling (203) 830-3900. Let's Sing! - A Community Sing-Along 
Join us for Let's Sing! A community sing-along in the spirit of Pete Seeger that will take place every other month at the Library."The songs are part of a project from the Music Educators National Conference, chosen for their wonderful spirit and singability," says Cantor Deborah Katchko-Gray, who began the series as a way to bring the community together.  Get America Singing Again! is the book that will be used and there is no fee.  Members of the public are encouraged to bring friends, family and portable instruments for an uplifting, shared musical experience. Musical hosts are Edwin Taylor, Faith Ferry, and Deborah Katchko-Gray.  For more information contact cantordebbie@gmail.comNo registration.

The Garden of Ideas, the Ridgefield Library and 109 Cheese and Wine will present a weekly Garden Lunch at the Garden of Ideas on Wednesday afternoons  through September 30. Enjoy lunch in a beautiful setting (prepared for you or bring your own)...in solitude, with old or new friends, with colleagues... with an option for a bit of added inspiration if desired.  
 
This week's readers: Terri Bearden-Rettger and Carol MarkTerry and Carol both live in Ridgefield, love to read and work together at Books on the Common here in Ridgefield.  Terry is the children's and young adult book buyer for the store.  Terry and Carol will be reading a mixed selection of new and old favorites for children and adults.
