Last Call for the Community Mural


The deadline is September 7th to recognize a family member or a favorite author on the Community Mural in the Gallery on the Library's Lower Level. Writers' Guild of Ridgefield
Our mission is to offer writers in Fairfield and Westchester County a support forum that includes a general critique of works-in-progress, and the exchange of information and ideas on topics about writing. Established more than a decade ago, the Ridgefield Writers Guild is a time-honored organization of writers whose genres span literary fiction, essay, short and flash fiction, memoir, young adult, children's books and poetry. Email Linda Merlino at lindamerlino@sbcglobal.net or call 203-240-2243 for more information.

The Garden of Ideas, the Ridgefield Library and 109 Cheese and Wine will present a weekly Garden Lunch at the Garden of Ideas on Wednesday afternoons  through September 30. Enjoy lunch in a beautiful setting (prepared for you or bring your own)...in solitude, with old or new friends, with colleagues... with an option for a bit of added inspiration if desired.   This week's reader is Phil Demise Smith

Suzanne Benton Exhibit Opens
September 3 - October 9

Exhibit: From Paintings in Proust by Suzanne Benton
Suzanne Benton's Proust-inspired works of art will be on view September 3 - October 9. Artist Suzanne Benton will also present an illustrated ARTalk on Sunday, September 20 at 2:00 PM in the Library's Main Program Room about her two-year travelling odyssey studying the paintings and painters that Marcel Proust, the renowned French author, referenced (200+) in his early 20th century ground-breaking novel, In Search of Lost Time. Immediately after Benton's ARTalk there will be a reception from 3-4:30 in the Library's Lower Level Gallery.

Sign up September 1st through the 20th for fall pre-school and after school programs.  We have a number of new offerings this fall for all ages. Many programs are offered on a drop-in basis, but some do require pre-registration on our website. 

Most classes start the week of September 21.
