Drawing the comics, as a rule, involves staying inside boxes. "Outside the Box" will include a selection of Browne's original "Hi and Lois" illustrations as well as his fine art.  In addition to landscapes and portraits, Browne will show constructions made from found materials. The eldest son of the late cartoonist Dik Browne ("Hagar the Horrible," "Hi and Lois"), Chance grew up in Wilton, Connecticut. He attended The New York School of Visual Arts and studied painting at Park College in Missouri.   He has served as president of the family's company, Browne Creative Enterprises Inc., since 1989, while illustrating "Hi and Lois" and editing material for "Hagar the Horrible."
