Seeking Summer Reading Volunteers
|
The Ridgefield Library now uses an online system for people to log and report their progress during the Summer Reading Program. To help children create accounts and track their books, hand out prizes and encourage more reading, the Library will be looking for approximately 50 middle and high school volunteers, each of whom can make a significant time commitment (at least 10 hours between late June and mid-August).
Interested teens should print out an application here, sign it (and get a parent or guardian signature) and return to Teen Services Librarian Geri Diorio at the Library by June 3rd.

Author Talk with Yudit Maros
|
 Thursday, May 28, 7:00 PM
Main Program Room
Yudit Maros on Authencitiy and the Practice of Self-Love
Licensed therapist Yudit Maros will talk about authenticity: how to think, behave and act in a way that is conducive to health and happy relationships. At the foundation of it all is healthy self-parenting, or self-care. This means the ability to show up for one's Self as a parent figure, especially under stress, to make sure needs are met. This requires four distinct practices that in a healthy family one learns in childhood from significant caretakers. These can also be learned later in life. There will be an opportunity to try this method out, and time for questions and answers.
Yudit Maros is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Certified Hypnotherapist in private practice in Ridgefield, CT. She is founding president of the Association of Authenticity Therapy in Hungary, and is an international trainer of therapists in the topics of authenticity as related to health, and trauma resolution. Ms. Maros has been practicing for 25 years, ten of which she dedicated to searching for the underlying pattern of what makes for emotional and relational health. She summarized her findings in her recently published book, Apple of My I: The Four Practices of Self-Love. Please register.
