Late Hours for AP Exam Study Groups The Library will stay open until 11:00 PM on these evenings for high school students who are studying for AP exams. Only Ridgefield High School students studying for AP exams will be allowed to stay in the Library for the extended hours, and only on the Upper Level. No one will be let INTO the Library after 8:00 PM. No registration.

Run Like A Mother 5K Race
The Ridgefield Library is pleased to be selected as the 2015 Charity Partner for the Run Like A Mother 5K race that takes place on Mother's Day. Funds donated by race participants will support the Library's Noreen L. Papa Mothers: Live your Life fund, which makes possible programs and collections dedicated to women's health and wellness, specifically to educating mothers to take care of themselves so they can take care of others. We'll be on hand at the finish line in Ballard Park to cheer on the runners - stop by for crafts, trivia and more.

The Garden of Ideas, the Ridgefield Library and 109 Cheese and Wine will present a weekly Garden Lunch at the Garden of Ideas on Wednesday afternoons through September 30. Enjoy lunch in a beautiful setting (prepared for you or bring your own)...in solitude, with old or new friends, with colleagues... with an option for a bit of added inspiration if desired. Purchase your delectable of choice--salads and sandwiches made with the Garden's own bounty--and head to marsh, meadow or woodland for a bit of tranquility. Finish up your midday break with inspiring reflections on everyday life from the wordsmiths of the Ridgefield Library's creative writing groups. Weekly readings by a variety of presenters will alternate with those from Garden of Ideas founder Joe Keller. Bring your friends and family and enjoy. Cost: $5, excludes lunch, CSA members $3. Zinio's stunning interface recreates a magazine page for page, including full color pictures, intuitive navigation, and key word searches for articles. 3D Printing Orientation Are you interested in printing your own 3D design on the Library's Makerbot? We are now offering use of our 3D printer to Ridgefield Library cardholders. Before reserving printer time (available in two-hour blocks), we require attendance at a 90-minute orientation session to go over how to format a design to be print ready, how to operate the Makerbot, and for an overview of our usage policies. Patrons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Space is limited so registration is required. Once you've attended a training session, you can reserve time to use the Makerbot.

Reading Is a Family Affair
Families with children in grades 3 - 5 are invited to a very special parent and child book discussion. The book selected for this session is Flora & Ulysses by Kate DeCamillo. Parents and children will read the book then come to the library for a pizza dinner and a fun discussion of the book. Pick up your free complimentary copy of the book when you register prior to the discussion. A $5 per person deposit is required at the time of registration. The deposit will be returned at the book discussion. Sponsored by the Friends of the Ridgefield Library.
