L&L Transmedia and the Ridgefield Library present L & L's seventh annual "Law Through Film Series". The focus this year of the LTF Series will be how technology forces changes in the law. Submit (56 minutes, unrated) is an award-winning documentary that focuses on cyber-bullying and the effects on our youth, families and society at large. This program is also co-sponsored by Ridgefield Prevention Council. Attorney Thomas Leaf, Esq. will lead a panel discussion with local High Schoolers after the screening. This program is recommended for people 14 and up. Please register. |

The Art and Joy of Memoir Writing
Jacqueline Masumian will discuss the art and joys of memoir writing as well as her debut book, Nobody Home. She will talk about what memoir is, how it is different from other literary forms and why it is important for everyone, not just professional writers, to practice this art form and reap the benefits of doing so.
Jacqueline has enjoyed careers as actress, performing arts manager, and landscape designer. Currently Jacqueline writes short stories and personal essays and lives in Connecticut with her husband George. Her blog is on Goodreads.com. Please register.

For this examination of the current art scene Ms. Enser-Ryan will select video excerpts from the Peabody-Award-winning biennial television series, Art-in-the-Twenty-First-Century. She will briefly introduce featured artists and themes before each video and open up the floor for discussion at the end. Suzanne Enser-Ryan is an art historian and contemporary art consultant, educator, and board member of several cultural organizations in Ridgefield Connecticut. Please register.

 The Nutmeg Book Awards are Connecticut's premiere recognition for outstanding children's literature, voted on by young readers across the state. Each year, children read quality literature and choose their favorite from a list of ten nominated titles in four categories. All votes must be in by Thursday, April 30th. You can only vote once! If you choose to cast your vote at the Ridgefield Library, please use our online voting form available on our website.

Reading Is a Family Affair
Families with children in grades 3 - 5 are invited to a very special parent and child book discussion. The book selected for this session is Flora & Ulysses by Kate DeCamillo. Parents and children will read the book then come to the library for a pizza dinner and a fun discussion of the book. Pick up your free complimentary copy of the book when you register prior to the discussion. A $5 per person deposit is required at the time of registration. The deposit will be returned at the book discussion. Sponsored by the Friends of the Ridgefield Library.
