Here's an opportunity to get a basic hands-on introduction to 3D design and printing.  We'll use iPads and the PrintShop app to design a simple 3D object.  You'll have a choice of designs: including a letter block, a bracelet, a ring, or a vase.   We'll also explore some of the amazing ways that 3D printing is currently being used and its possible applications in the not too distant future.  Patrons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration required.

*While we won't have time to print your final product during the class, you'll be able to pick up your 3D design at a later date.

The Art of Marketing for the Visual and Performing Arts with Jen Mathy
In today's arts market, it takes much more than hanging a painting on a gallery wall to make a sale or set a date for a performance of any kind.  Ms. Mathy will discuss integrated marketing communications, basic business skills, and the need for visual and performing artists to create their own "brand identity." Audience members are welcome to attend a wine reception at Watershed Gallery, 23 Governor Street, immediately following the talk.

Jennifer Mathy is the director and co-owner of Watershed Gallery, a fine arts gallery representing emerging and mid-career artists in Ridgefield, CT.  Ms. Mathy's 25-year career as a marketing communications specialist includes her work as publicist for the Northwestern University arts program and for an improvisational comedy troupe, the Orange County Crazies. Ms. Mathy served as brand manager of advertising/sponsorship for Discover Card (where she marketed sponsorships such as the Grammy Festival, the Smithsonian Institution's 150th Anniversary traveling exhibition,  and Jazz@Lincoln Center). She went on to work as vice president of advertising and brand management for Morgan Stanley, and recently operated her own marketing consultancy for small to mid-sized businesses. She currently sits on the board of the Ridgefield Arts Council. Please register.
