Thursday's presentation on FAFSA and the Financial Aid Application Process with Laurie Schaffler has been cancelled. We will try to re-schedule for another date.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide
news.jpg Volunteers from the AARP will offer free help with income tax filing for low- and moderate-income taxpayers, especially those 60 and older.Tax-Aide sessions will be held at the Ridgefield Library on Thursday mornings from February 5th through April 9th BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  Tax-Aide is not a Library program.  For appointment or information please call 203-438-4288.
Grant Workshop for Non-Profits

Grants - How To Get Them and Then What
Foundation and grant consultant and instructor Judith Margolin explores the ins and outs of grant seeking, providing some very specific advice about how to be successful at securing outside funding from foundations and corporations.  Topics covered include:  the various types of grants, what kinds of grants in which dollar amounts work best for different types of funders, and alternatives to cash grants.  How to determine where grants fit in your overall funding scheme, and what to do when you actually receive a grant to ensure you are well positioned for the next grant are also addressed. This program is aimed at nonprofit organizations, their staff, board members and volunteers.  Refreshments will be served. This program is free - please register. Snow Date Feb 13.

The Writers Guild of Ridgefield
OUR MISSION is to offer writers in Fairfield and Westchester County a support forum that includes a general critique of works-in-progress, and the exchange of information and ideas on topics about writing. A panel of dynamic and smart women will highlight some of the very diverse jobs available in the Information Technology field and they will also talk more personally about the specific paths they took to get where they are today. Registration is recommended but drop-ins welcome.

Kids Tech Time - Hour of Code Celebration
Throughout the Library

Kids grade K-8 come celebrate Ridgefield Codes!   Use our Bee-bots, our iPads, our magnatiles and more! Check out Robotics, Computer Aided Design (CAD), 3D Pritning and more. Bring your imagination with you!!! The  fun celebration of technology continues.  Raffle tickets for cool STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) prizes will be given to any child who attends the program and who takes part in any of the activities going on around the building that day. Children can also earn raffle tickets by continuing to code and log their work at ridgefieldcodes.org through February 5.  Raffle drawing at 6 PM. Registration is recommended but drop-ins also welcome.

Celebrate "Take Your Child to the Library" day by joining us for a puppet performance of Rudyard Kipling's "Just So Stories."  This performance by Robert Rogers Puppet Company is for families with children ages 4 and older. No registration.
