3D Design and Printing

Here's an opportunity to get a basic hands-on introduction to 3D design and printing.  We'll use iPads and the Printshop app to design a simple 3D object.  You'll have a choice of 3 designs: a letter block, a bracelet, or a ring.  We'll also explore some of the amazing ways that 3D printing is currently being used and its possible applications in the not too distant future.  This program is for those 18 years of age and up. Please register.

While we won't have time to print your final product during the class, you'll be able to pick up your 3D design at a later date.

Art Exhibit: Karyn Reynolds

Biomimicry is a design discipline that seeks innovative and sustainable solutions to complex human problems by imitating nature's time-tested patterns. Local artist Karyn Reynolds explores Biomimicry with interpretive works in book sculpture, assemblage and collage. Birds, butterflies and bees are just some of the subjects included in this upcoming show that is sure to leave you thinking about your surroundings in new ways. Karyn Reynolds is a mixed media artist whose portfolio spans a wide variety of materials and processes. With a passion for biology, entomology and geology, she often incorporates natural subjects into her works.  She is best known for her book sculpture and assemblage pieces, and has won awards in local and regional juried shows. Reynolds is a member of the Ridgefield Guild of Artists and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking.

The exhibit will be available for viewing in The Gallery on the Lower Level through September 12th during the Library's open hours.
