Meet the Artist Day with Karyn Reynolds

Biomimicry is a design discipline that seeks innovative and sustainable solutions to complex human problems by imitating nature's time-tested patterns.
Local artist Karyn Reynolds explores Biomimicry with interpretive works in book sculpture, assemblage and collage. Birds, butterflies and bees are just some of the subjects included in this upcoming show that is sure to leave you thinking about your surroundings in new ways. Karyn Reynolds is a mixed media artist whose portfolio spans a wide variety of materials and processes. With a passion for biology, entomology and geology, she often incorporates natural subjects into her works.  She is best known for her book sculpture and assemblage pieces, and has won awards in local and regional juried shows. Reynolds is a member of the Ridgefield Guild of Artists and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking.

"Meet the Artist Day" is Saturday, August 23rd at the Ridgefield Library from Noon to 4:00 PM, where the artist will be on site to discuss her work, her process and everything else that inspires under the sun.
