Summer Schedule Starts this Week |
Our summer schedule begins this week, which means that we will be closed on Sundays until Labor Day. Visit the Library during the following hours, and check us out online 24/7 at www.ridgefieldlibrary.org.

Scavenger Hunt Contest Winds Up Saturday
|
If you haven't had a chance to visit the new Library yet, you can still participate in the Scavenger Hunt through June 14th. Just bring in the postcard you received in the mail, or pick one up at the Library. You'll have a chance to explore our great new home and be entered for fun prizes as well.
First prize is an iPad Air. Additional prizes include a gift basket from Anila's Variety Store on Main Street and several bags of Ridgefield Library logo goodies.

Honor your favorite high school or college grad with a gift to the Library in their honor. We will provide you with a Ridgefield Library coffee mug and an acknowledgement card to present to the graduate and will post the honorees' names prominently on the Ridgefield Library website and in the Library. 3D Printing Demo

Drop by anytime between 2 and 5 PM to see the Ridgefield Library's new 3D printer in action. The printer, which was purchased through the generosity of the Friends of the Ridgefield Library, will be up and running, and our staff will be on hand to answer questions about the 3D printer and its future uses at the library.

Learn how to write dynamite college admission essays with the nationwide program Show! Don't Tell! presented by Susan Berescik, retired teacher of English, SAT Prep and journalism at Trumbull High School. This one-hour introduction de-mystifies the Common Application essay questions and presents the powerful, attention-getting Show! Don't Tell! technique for writing narratives that LEAP off the page. Examples and appropriate handouts guide students to write effective compositions. Students and parents are encouraged to attend together. Please register. |
Digital Media Survey Underway

Do you use the Library's OverDrive downloadable audiobook and eBook service? Have you come to one of our Tech Topics sessions on e-readers? Do you stream music or video you find on the Internet? Here's an opportunity for you to help shape the future of digital content at the Ridgefield Library. We invite you to participate in a brief survey on digital media in libraries put together by graduate student Dawn Zimmerer and look forward to learning the responses of our patrons on this very timely topic. You may pick up a paper copy of the survey at the Library or take the survey online at Survey Monkey. Average completion time is less than 15 minutes. The deadline is June 18th, so do it today.
