Memorial Day Schedule Changes |
The Library will be closed on Sunday, May 25 and Monday, May 26 for the Memorial Day holiday. We will be open regular hours 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Saturday for your convenience.
Please note that we will be undergoing a library automation system upgrade that weekend, and some remote circulation and catalog functions will be offline between Saturday at 6:00 PM and Tuesday at 90:00 AM. Further information will be posted on our website when available.

Books on the Common and Ridgefield Library are delighted to welcome award-winning cartoonist and illustrator Roz Chast to discuss her graphic memoir Can't We Talk About Something More Pleasant? (Bloomsbury USA, May 6, 2014) Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing following the presentation. Roz Chast's cartoons have been published widely in The New Yorker and in many other magazines besides, including Scientific American, the Harvard Business Review Redbook, and Mother Jones. Her last book is a comprehensive compilation of her favorite cartoons called Theories of Everything. She also illustrated The Alphabet from A to Y, with Bonus Letter, Z, the best-selling children's book by Steve Martin. This event is currently sold out. The Friends of the Library have graciously volunteered to continue their guided tours of the new Library during the coming weeks.
Public tours will be held several times a week.

Summer Reading Volunteer Applications Now Being Accepted
| The Ridgefield Library now uses an online system for people to log and report their progress during the Summer Reading Program. To help children create accounts and track their books, hand out prizes and encourage more reading, the Library will be looking for approximately 50 middle and high school volunteers, each of whom can make a significant time commitment (16 to 20 hours between June 23 and August 9). Applicants must complete the attached application, sign and return it to Geri Diorio at the Library or at gadiorio@ridgefieldlibrary.org by June 2.
