SCRABBLE with Joe Edley

Joe Edley is a three-time National SCRABBLE Champion and the author of the excellent guide "Everything Scrabble" and numerous other
books.   Joe is an excellent teacher, and he has taught SCRABBLE at the Chautauqua Institution for over a decade.  He also teaches a class at the 92nd St. Y in New York City.

Joe returns to the Ridgefield Library with a presentation for beginning and intermediate players of all ages (kids and adults welcome).  He gives a comprehensive introduction to tournament SCRABBLE, talking for about an hour, then answering questions. He discusses saving the right tiles (rack management), how to find bingos (50-point bonus plays using all your tiles), methods for learning new words, and social benefits.  He includes fun tidbits from tournament and club SCRABBLE history. Please register.

Last Week to Take our Photo-a-Day Challenge
During the month of March, for those who are teens, or those who are teens at heart, the Ridgefield Library is offering a Photo-A-Day Challenge. On the New Ridgefield Library's Facebook page, you'll find a bright green photo offering daily "prompts" - ideas to inspire you. Take a photo of your interpretation of the suggestion and share your photo using social media.  You can use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Flickr, your own blog...the choice is up to you! But when you share your photo, please add the hashtag #ridgefieldlibpix so that the rest of us who are playing can follow along and see all the photos inspired by the prompt.
