New York Times bestselling author Kim Harrison's latest and penultimate installment of her Hollows series, The Undead Pool, is on sale on February 25. The Undead Pool follows witch and day-walking demon Rachel Moran as she seeks out an ancient magic that is her only chance to preserve the truce between humans and the supernatural world before all-out war consumes both sides.

Kim Harrison was born and raised in the upper Midwest. Her bestselling Hollows novels include Dead Witch Walking, The Good, The Bad, and The Undead, Every Which Way But Dead, A Fistful of Charms, For a Few Demons More, The Outlaw Demon Wails, White Witch, Black Curse, Black Magic Sanction, Pale Demon, A Perfect Blood, Ever After, plus the short story collection Into the Woods and The Hollows Insider. She also writes the bestselling Madison Avery YA series.

This program is co-sponsored by Books on the Common and copies of The Undead Pool will be available for sale and signing at the event. Please register

Ridgefield Folk Welcomes Heather Maloney

Ridgefield Folk with Heather Maloney
"I always said that if I didn't write songs, I'd be covered in tattoos, because every song I write is something I want to remember really badly," says Heather Maloney. "Heather Maloney", out in March on Signature Sounds, is the third album for a songwriter hailed by The Huffington Post for "lyrics that cut to the chase." DigBoston wrote that she "deserves the type of cult following that has allowed the likes of Aimee Mann and Ani DiFranco that long standing success and influence they have had." "Her music is riveting, her voice adventurous, her lyrics thought-provoking..." - NO DEPRESSION

The concert is sponsored by the Friends of the Ridgefield Library and tickets are free.  They can be picked up on the day of the show at the door starting at 1:00 PM.  Doors open at 1:30 and the show starts at 2:00 PM.
Write It!  From Idea to Book

From Idea to Book with Michael White

Going from an idea to a finished and published book is an interesting way to see how a novel unfolds.  For this seminar Michael White will discuss how his novel Soul Catcher went from an "idea on a mountain top in Colorado" to a published book.  He will discuss the research and the methods used to write and revise the novel, including major changes in the first and last chapters, as well as changes and revisions throughout.  Michael White is the author of six novels. His work was twice a finalist for the Connecticut Book Award for Fiction, and his sixth novel, Beautiful Assassin,  won the 2011 Connecticut Book Award. Copies of his books will be available for sale and signing after the discussion. Please register.
