The Library will be open regular hours 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM on Monday, February 17th. Drop by and pick up a book or DVD to celebrate President's Day, or head to the Rec Center for Nappy's Puppets (see below for details).

Garden Design for Four Season Interest with Master Gardener Donna Katsuranis.
Winter is when you can really see the "bones" of your garden. Take advantage of the opportunity to look at the Big Picture, and dream on the Possibilities! Bring questions and puzzlements from your garden world, and join us for a fun evening of chat and pictures as Donna Katsuranis shows us how to see our gardens through different eyes, and shows us lots of great plants with season-spanning interest. Please register as space is limited.

Author, journalist, social observer, purveyor of urban cool, witty chronicler of the "me decade" and the cultural satirist whom many call the heir to Dorothy Parker, Fran Lebowitz remains one of the foremost advocates of the Extreme Statement. She offers insights on timely issues such as gender, race, gay rights, and the media as well as her own pet peeves - including celebrity culture, tourists and strollers. Join us for an on-stage interview followed by a 60 minute audience Q&A. Fran's topics range from politics, life in NYC, Andy Warhol and the glory days of the Studio 54 crowd, to literature and her opinions on everything! Tuesday, February 18, 4:30 PM Library Program Room Middle School CriticsStudents in Grades 6 - 8 meet to share whatever books they are reading. Snacks are served. No registration.Thursday, February 20, 4:30 PM Library Program Room Harry Potter Book Club It's that time again! Calling all muggles in grades 4-6! Join us as we read and discuss Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire! Registration is required. Saturday, February 22, 1:00 - 4:00 PM Library Program Room SCRATCH Programming for Girls and others... Part of the Donofrio Technology Series, made possible by the generosity of the Donofrio Family Join computer scientist Kimberly Sauter as she leads 3rd-5th graders through the use of MIT created computer program SCRATCH. She'll also take participants through some "unplugged" activities as well. This is a 3 part series and registering for the first workshop insures your place in all three workshops. We encourage participants to attend all three workshops. Registration required.

Pinocchio Presented by Theatre IV
Imagine Geppetto's surprise when the puppet he carves from a most unusual piece of wood suddenly springs to life. The wooden boy, named Pinocchio, becomes like a son to the kindly old wood carver who provides him with a loving home. But the mischievous, and somewhat ungrateful, Pinocchio has other ideas and sets off on a series of fantastical adventures. Along the way he learns valuable lessons that lead him back home to Geppetto and earn him the thing he most desires - to be a real boy.

Tuesday 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM, Library Program Room Mother Goose Language enrichment program for infants through age 2 with an adult including finger plays, music and movement. Tuesday, 6:00 PM, Library Program Room Scrabble Play Scrabble with a tournament experienced teacher. For children in grades 4 - 8. Friday 11:00 AM, Library Program Room Musical Storytime with Ann - Back by popular demand! Children ages 2 and up can drop in for stories and music with Ann. Caregivers are welcome to stay.
